Do you pray over your meals? If so why? If not, when did you stop and why?
by BU2B into answer my question, no i do not pray over meals anymore exept for when i am with other jws i do a 15 second head bow for appearances sake.
i just came to the realization god had nothing to do with whether i ate or not.
many believers are starving right now whilst many non-believers are eating like kings.. also why should god give me food while he lets little children in dprk concentration camps starve to death.

My Explanation of Why They Got it Wrong About Blood Using Only the NWT
by cofty in10 " any israelite or any alien living among them who eats any bloodi will set my face against that person who eats blood and will cut him off from his people.
12 therefore i say to the israelites, "none of you may eat blood, nor may an alien living among you eat blood.
15 'anyone, whether native-born or alien, who eats anything found dead or torn by wild animals must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be ceremonially unclean till evening; then he will be clean.

HANDLING CHEMOTHERAPY - Advice anyone?
by hamsterbait ini have just been diagnosed with colorectal cancer (tuesday).. the consultant told me i am to get a scan to see how far it has spread.. i am going to have surgery to remove it, then chemotherapy with a break in the middle.. strange to say i am more terrified of dying under the anesthetic than anything.
but i have a fear of nausea and vomiting, which chemo caused in all my relatives who have had it.. any advice for coping with this?.

hi hampsterbait sorry to hear about the situation you are in.
i had my chemo over 30 years ago, firstly they gave me by mistake a double dose & i lost my hair after only 3 days, i had a little nausea but never was sick. i also continued to work all the way through it.
the chemo drugs i was on were vinchristene?, prednisone & 1 other i can't recall but do have it's name somewhere.
maintaining a good healthy diet, as many have already advised.
pot sounds like a good idea if you can get it legally
i wish you well with your treatment

What Drew You To The Witnesses?
by minimus ini did believe for the first 30 years of my life that they had been picked by jehovah god to dispense the truth as best as imperfect humans could.
then, everything became questionable.
i had read anti jw books in the past but franz's books really got to me but not immediately.

We were taught the Maori Haka in primary school, and performed often, even though we had very few Maoris at the school, infact I can only remember 1.
We had a teacher who was married to a Maori lady and Maori culture was taught on a regular basis.
I'm much like the other Kiwis here, who now live outside NZ, seeing the Haka brings a lot of pride in being a Kiwi.
