Thanks for the info cantleave. I am newly into my fade and didn't even think much about the New CO coming around soon and how I will be hounded for time. So far, I haven't had any elders or "friends" call me. I haven't turned in any time in about 4 months or so nor have I bothered with going to any meetings. My mother had a few in her congregation inquire of my decision of a KH. She just shields them off with some kind of generic excuse (Go mom!). I guess I better start getting myself ready for the possible hounders soon.

I've never experienced that, but a good JW friend of mine told me an experience that she had. She went to the movies with 8 other sisters to see Vantage Point. A few in that group were pioneers and there was the PO's wife. 1 of the sisters (a mentally unstabled pioneer) stormed out of the theater when the violent scenes were featured. Afterwards, they went to get a bite to eat and discussed the movie. Some were ok, while some, including the PO's wife of course, were against it and and went further to criticize the hostess (a sister who always tried to keep things spiritually balanced about entertainment) saying she should have done better research. Of course wifey mentioned it her Prick Overseer husband and he brought it up at a SM, making the other sister feel even worst to the point that she doesn't bother doing movie night anymore.
I found it laughable myself. Especially the part about the phony pioneer sister who stormed out. Not too long ago, she went to see King Kong and had no problems with it. Of course, not too many "seeing eyes" were around to condemn her for it and she wanted to put up a good front for the PO's wife.

Were You Treated Like Crap By The "Brothers" and "Sisters"?

I was an anonymous face in the KH. I've discovered that unless you are of a strong family line in the faith or of the "elite" class or even good friends of the "elite" class, you are to the roam the halls a nobody.
I remember an incident that happened to me at a Sunday meeting. This well-known PO gave a talk at my hall(he has an article in a 70's WT about his life). I was a bit late arriving there, but still managed to sit in my usual spot towards the front of the hall. I happened to have walked in during an illustration he was giving and upon seeing me, he included me in his illustration along with a few others he knew in the hall. No biggie. After the meeting was over, this sister approached me and said, "So, how did you come to know Bro. So and So?" No how am I doing or anything. Just found it "enlightening" that this famous PO knew me: a nobody. I just smiled and told her how I've come to know him. Talk about having personal interest in the other?

When did a lightbulb first go off in your head that something didn't seem right???
by cognac ini was about 4 or 5 years old.
they must of been talking about prejudice in the meeting or something.
that's when i first learned about it.

So many of them. But 3 major ones stood out to me: discouragement of higher education, Sept. KM about the need to avoid independent research material (WTF?) and the callous, cliquish, fluff mentality of your average Jdub in KH fashion.

Went to District Convention this weekend with no Badge brother talks in 3rd person to Witnesses "Who's this guy? A study? WTF
by Witness 007 ina brother who's a friend of mine introduces me...but i have no "keep on the watch" badge so he stares at me...then where the badge should be...then back at me...turns to the brother with me ignoring me and says "who's this guy?
is he a study.." he had a smug ass#ole look on his face.
like people without badges can't talk.

My father makes the best cornbread. Tastes like rich buttery cake. Mmm Mmm Mmm. I've never been big on sweet potatoe pie, although I do like sweet potatoes. Another dish he makes real good.

Lack of Love - Your Experiences?
by lepermessiah ini wanted to start a thread on this subject because i am so curious to get other observations on this.. .
the one thing that started me on the journey of questioning my involvement in the organization was the blatant lack of love that i had seen in so many instances.
did i have doctrinal questions - yes!
-
Girlie
The lack of love is a major reason behind my fading. Whenever I brought this subject up to an elder, they would act offended and would turn it around on me by this insensitive statement, "What are you personally doing to build up the love of the congregation"? Umm... aren't you appointed by God's Holy Spirit to be leaders of this congregation? I think that is a question you should be asking your self.
Yet, when the CO came to town, everyone broke their neck to put on the fluff act, just for him to declare the exact samething.
What irks me the most is how they keep preaching how the love amongst the friends is so strong, that a fellow JW will be willing to lay their life down for you. Yet, their actions prove such a statement to be a bold face lie.

Ouija Board Hysteria
by Megachusen ini always wondered why jw's were always so afraid of ouija(pronounced as "wee-yaw" not "wee-gee") boards.
does anyone have any speculation about who started these jw myths?.
anyone who has actually tried the board and would like to give their opinions are welcome.

Well, fuck you.
Had you read any of my other responses you would realize that I'm not claiming that your experiences are fabrications. I do believe that you experienced something. My point of contention is whether it was paranormal or not. That's what I want to find out.
Meanwhile, please do not put words into my mouth.
I'm sorry. Thought I was talking to a much mature audience. At any rate, enjoy the topic.

The most annoying thing about the people who claim to have supernatural experiences is that when you back them into a corner the only thing they can ever say is: "What I saw was real! Don't you dare tell me what I saw wasn't real because you haven't experienced it."
They quickly shift from "It does exist" to "I'm not trying to convince you exists. I'm just saying that, from my expereince, it does".
This line of reasoning can be found in every piece of bullshit that ever existed.
What I do find annoying is for someone who wasn't there, do not know me, no nothing of me to assume that my experience is a piece of fabrication. However, to each its own thought.
Was it a bad spirit making threats against me? Maybe. Maybe not. I do not know. I do know that it was frightening enough for me to not invest any interest into anything I have no understanding of.

by Son of Man ini do nothing of my own accord........ as i make my way into work i see everyone glued to the television in the conference room listening to reports of an attack by terrorists in the united states.
video is being played over and over again showing how the airplanes flew directly into the twin towers.
and thereafter the buildings do colapse.

This account reads like a poorly scripted Sci Fi or something.
