this is regarding the change in the wording of the awake!
masthead regarding "the creator's promise" to restore paradise.
i believe the change happened between the octbober 22 and november 8 issues.
Well I be darned. You learn something new every day. I am thumbing through my 95' Awake bound volume and I have noticed that the masthead did change. From the Nov. 8th issue onward, they did away with the part that says "before the generation that saw the events of 1914 passes away".
I believe that during that time, new "light" was shed on the understanding of that "generation". More likely the reason they changed the wording.
Because they are too darn weak to accept accountability for their own actions.
in a recent thread about an nfl player being allowed to return to play after being convicted and serving time for a felony, it was suggested that maybe his ancestory played a part in his attitudes and actions.. those of you were playing along at home know the deal.... is it fair to lay blame on one's ancestors in how one acts in today's society?.

Excuse me, but I thought that this was a place were EVERYONE is free to share their views and ideas, so as long as they do not slander or hurt anyone here or is overly vulgar and disrespectful? Snowbird has every right to post her comment as does anyone else and shouldn't be jumped on because of it. If you do not agree with her view, you are more than welcomed to not post or view content. Free speech anyone?
does anybody remember which scripture it is in the greek scriptures (i want to say it was of paul's writings) that the jw's used as a reason that women had no privileges that a man could have in the congregation?
i remember doing research on it for a return visit.
basically the jist of it is that because of eve's sin, all women are inferior.
1 Timothy 2:11-15

Ok, I just got finished searching at the J-archive site and did searches under bible, JW, WTS and NWT. Couldn't find any searches under NWT. Searches under JW and WTS were interrelated (e.g. more common name of WTSB - JW, etc.) Searches under the bible came up with a slew of information dating from 84' to the present; none with the above "answer" or "question". So it is safe to say that the above question and answer never happened and that it was just another rumor that JWs gave credence to as truth. (Scratching my head wondering why I didn't bother to do the research when 1st presented to me. Chalk it up to be a good little brainwashed sheeple.)

Thanks for the poem Behe. It is that very reason for why I find myself wanting to leave from the JWs. I do not like the idea of not having control over my future and its destination and their absurd view on higher education made me cringe. There is no way I could last in a religion structured like this for too long. Regret the amount of time I did give to it.
