What was your most embarassing WTF experience with a fanatical witness??

we've all known those fanatical witnesses who are guilty of pdf (public display of faith) and always have to make a big song and dance to the whole world and let everyone and their dog know they're a faithful witness of jay hoover!.

1) when my mother first came in 'da troooof' this wacky, over zealous 'sister' was studying with her - you know the type.

this woman was one of those not so subtle individuals who would always talk loud in conversation and say the name jehovah a million times even when the conversation could have been about basketball.

I remember a former friend telling me about a "sister" that used to work with her at this company. The sister would always preach, but rarely did any work. She would actually sit at her desk during company time and do her studies. If someone approached her about it, she would yell, "This is Jehovah's time!" Of course she was given all the time she needed in service for Jehovah.

I would get embarassed if friends placed literature when we were on vacation together. I would always get the "We're Jehovah's Witnesses 24/7" spiel, but that still didn't prompt me to do it.

Breaking News - Another Craigslist Killer, 9 bodies found

on the news right now, 9 bodies total count thus far found on long island ny.

all these women were prostitutes who listed ads on craigslist.

That is sad and not to mention very scary that there is a probable serial killer on the loose. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those poor victims.

what do you say to a brother-in-law elder who can't take no for an answer

my daughter is getting married soon and she has "no kids to my wedding" policy as we plainly cannot afford it.

everyone out of the truth seems to understands this and no complaints but my abnoxious proud and pig headed brother in law can't take no for an answer as he thinks his young son is sooooooo special he needs to attend.

he called up yesterday and gave her an earfull on how his son is sooo good and her first cousin that it's sooo wrong to have him there, she came home crying.

Have You Ever Experienced Depression?

my mom does and has every ailment under the sun.. i know more people that are under meds for depression than not.. fortunately, i do not suffer from depression but i wonder how many do or have, especially if you were a witness..

I have been down that road many of times. I still suffer with depression, but I manage it for the most part by giving myself positive affirmations, exercise, therapy, prayer and doing the things I want to do in life.

just wanted to drop in and share the good news that i have been accepted to "the big city university" this fall.

sorry i haven't been around much lately, this is a busy semester as i'm just getting on with a really exciting life.. wow, has my life changed as i look back over the years!

and jwd/jwn has been an important part of the positive direction that my life is now headed.. my previous thread and history are in the private section for members.

1) i think it's ridiculous to tell anyone when and how to use something they paid for ( computers and internet service ).

2) i think it's ridiculous to tell married couples how to act in the bedroom.

3) i think it's ridiculous to tell people what kinda cars they should buy ( 4 door for fieldservice ).

LOL! So true, Sweet. Was so indoctrinated then that I never gave thought to the health risk of drinking and eating behind someone. I don't know what some of you "friends" do with your mouths. lol

Another one is forced labor under the guise of "loving provision from Jehovah".

i am referring to a personal/sexual relationship with someone, perhaps, that you could possibly love.. i know a lot of people who are very content to date, possibly have sex and look for another partner..

Nope. I would rather being single than to be in a crappy relationship. I am opened to the idea, but not actively pursuing it or press to rush into one.

That you can't have a blood transfusion due to obedience to misinterpreted scriptures, but make allowance for blood fractions.

That you will never marry in the new system (?!!)

To say that higher education is a tool of the devil and not needed in this system.

i am a college trying to maintain good grades.college is stressful especially this year.have any of you who are still in college, or went to college found it to be difficult in any way shape or form?.for me i am worried about finding a good career after i graduate.since the job market is still slow.. thanks.

Good advice from everyone. I say hang in there d and keep on persevering. It is challenging and does require great self-discipline, but so worth it in the long run.
