but our situation is very difficult and quite high profile.... i was raised as a jw and my mother was very strict and abusive.
i got baptized at age 14.. my mother actually called on my (present) husband's mom in service.
she was on the initial call resulting in his mom coming in the truth and him being raised in it from about age 8 or 9.. despite a very abusive step-father, he followed his mom's lead and came into the truth.
Sorry to hear about your story. As cognizant dissident said, keep gatting counseling and be open and honest with them. I haven't been back to the JWs for 4 years and it gets better and better as time goes by. You will find TRUE FRIENDS out in the "world" that don't lie to you and don't have agendas. Good luck. it appears, from my recent visit to www.ajwrb.org that there is an underground group of practising jehovah's witnesses who are seeking to change current blood doctrine.
they call themselves the associtated jehovah's witnesses for reform on blood, or the ajwrb.
does this group actually exist?

i needed to get this off my chest for awhile back i confessed to the elders in my hall that i had sexbfm, i was dating a sister for 2 years and she wouldnt marry me until i became an elder like her dad.
so i fell into some sin and did the deed, one night stand with a stranger.
i felt bad for it and told the brothers, well they recommended me for dfing, i told them i wasnt sure where i was in life spiritually and they said i need to go on my own and figure it out...well 7 days or so later i went and called the po and asked him if he would hear my repentance, he said it was too late (one day past the alotted time) and they already sent the letter to the society...well i asked what can i do and they recommened a judical comittee of like 8 brothers from surrounding halls to hear my case, well i sat in a massive circle of 10 or more brothers in a back room and opened up all of my repentance and tears and confessions, they all were in an agrement that i was worthy to stay in the organization becuase as they stated "you are a good fine brother that loves jehovah" but.... they recounted that they have to go with the first decision they 3 elders in my hall made, then told me to work my way back in no time.....this was a turning point of craziness, my mother father brother sister all stopped talking to me imeddiatly not a word, they were from the old school 70's witnesses (not like the ones today) they were taught to be strickt!
pes0210, I'm so sorry for you. I was born in and now am 50 and haven't gone for 4 years, woke up and found out it isn't a religon and it isn't christian, ITS A CULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Disfellowshipping is not discipline and its not loving, its BULLYING. I'm sorry about your dad, but keep trying with your other family members, one day they will wake up(hope).

Yes I truly loved it and believed it and defended it completely. Born in it and have family in it. But since completely faded no one has anything to do with me. It kills me, but I can't go back after learning what I have, need to be honest and true.

yesterday i got to ask my kids what they thought of the convention they just had.
response was 'really good'.
daughter liked the drama but could not say why or what the lesson was... so i figure she liked it because it was more interesting than the regular talks.
Thanks for sharing aussie. I asked my kids too about the convention and it went over their heads about the generation. I wish I could talk to mine like you have to your son. They went to the sydney, australia convention. Please keep us updated on any more discussion. I would like to use it with my kids (they are already baptised).

my husband and i just went to subway for lunch .
we park right next to the truck of the elder that came questioning me earlier this summer .
then their daughter was the girl that had to wait on us ...she was nice ,but clearly we are just another customer now ....... when we sat down to eat my husband had a smirk on his face ,i said , "what .....you laughing because i am invisible now ??

i find the topic of the 1975 end of the world scenario facinating, especially since i never lived through it.

with whitewashed tripe like the 'proclaimers' book informing dubs that it was just the false expectations of over enthusiastic apostates, are you at all concerned that the legacy of bullshit that is 1975 will be a forgotten moment in history blamed on you instead where the blame really belongs?
Witnessof jesus, the GB definately pointed towards 1975, I was 14 at the time and was scared sh-tless. Even an elder assured me that we would survive the big A in 1975 because we were so righteous. (it makes me sick thinking about it, all the LIES)

i did not know where to start, but figured the personal experience section was a good place to begin.
won't bore you with all the particulars today....but i was raised in "it" (wont call it the truth, cause it ain't) from about 1968. baptized in 1985, faded about 2001.....woke up from the insanity after reading ray franz forbidden book a few years ago(crisis).
only sorry i did not read it earlier....but there was that fear factor instilled in me.
