  this weekend i had the most delicious chicken pie filled with white meat, a few veggies, gravy and the chicken pie had a hard crust, not puff pastry.

  2013 District Convention Headquarters Addresses, Dates, List!

  2013 district convention headquarters, addresses-united states and canada..this list is 10 pages long containing the addresses and above some of the locations you will see dates, such as, (june 15-18) or something like that.

  i think those dates indicate when the convention will be held at that location.

  help me out if i am wrong on that.

  I did indeed love the beliefs, but it wasn't like there was a better option, what with not wanting to get a beating and all.

  Are confident in their message.

  Of course. But confidence is a trait exuded by many salesmen, because they want you to buy what they're selling. No, JWs weren't selling anything tangible, but they were selling something--you just paid with your time more than your money.

  Are clean-cut and seem to have their lives together.

  If you've just met these people, you have no idea if they have their lives together. (And if you haven't just met them, you know that just ain't so. Half of 'em are horribly depressed, undereducated, underemployed, and so on.) They're also not the only clean-cut people on the face of the earth. Other people have neat haircuts and are clean-shaven, too.

  they're taught to be humble and approachable, so they don't hold their "superior" Bible knowledge over others' heads and are eager to share it.

  Wow. Perhaps you should read more of the Study Edition. They're programmed with a belief that they are absolutely superior in every way by virtue of being a JW. They're eager to share it because of cognitive dissonance. The more voices are drowning out their own questions, the better they feel and the more likely they are to keep believing it all.

  Have literature

  That's just a slick sales brochure, don't be fooled by it. Bible verses are presented in isolation and your mind is subtly prepared to accept their teachings without critical analysis.

  Also, in conclusion, they're not that effective. I mean, Mormons outdo them numerically by virtue of simply having sex. All things considered, pass me them golden plates, Moroni! I've got some writing to do!

  in march 2000, residents of virginia, maryland, and washington d.c. watched continuous, often live, news reports about an ongoing manhunt for a police fugitive on the loose.

  on march 8, 2000, that career criminal, named joseph palczynski, attempted to carjack a jehovah's witness family on their way to the kingdom hall in joppa, maryland.

  palczynski twice shot jennifer mcdonel, 37, who was driving the family auto.

  Wow, I didn't realize people were WARNED to stay off the streets.

  I'm going off memory here, so of course I could be wrong, but I distinctly remember this story and the fear I felt at the time. I'm fairly certain that was said, though. Wonder if there are any articles still around about that, if it could be confirmed.

  I had some fun today.

  i took the kids to a park at the center of our town today.

  i say some inappropriately dressed people, and decided to investigate.

  i keep a close eye on people at the play ground who don't fit in.

  While some have made wise use of technology, there is need for caution. Some Witnesses have been approached in the ministry by apostates, who may pretend to be interested in our message, but have the sinister motive of drawing away Christ's disciples after themselves. One sister in Germany relates: "A man approached me while I was in the public ministry. He used his [cellular telephone] to pull up some material he claimed was published by the Society and created a disturbance reading it out loud. A crowd formed, and he misled them to the point of persecution, ridicule, and laughter." The police were called, but sadly, rather than silencing the opposer who was clearly in the wrong, he sided with him! "It became clear that it was best for me to depart so as to avoid bringing reproach on our ministry and to seek out deserving ones," she concludes. We must be wary of apostates and avoid their subtle, demonic approach, as we would avoid any other poison.

  Dreaming about JW's

  lately i have been dreaming a lot about old jw's i used to know and be friends with.

  i have been out since 2008 but yet i think often of those i liked a lot at the kingdom hall.

  i do not get it why do these still thoughts still come?

  Ah. I've been having recurring dreams of this sort, as well. Not all that often, but when it happens, I have that same horrible feeling of being trapped in it again. Either that, or I'm arguing with someone about the doctrine and getting really p.o.'d.

  I guess the programming is such that our subconscious is still struggling with it on some level, or still fighting it on some level. I don't know. I'd rather have dreams about anything else, anything at all. But at least it's not as bad as it used to be.

  I think the other factor that your article brings up is, how did they steer the Ark? Before the 40 days would've been up, the Ark would inevitably have encountered mountain ranges or large rock formations that would endanger it. I would think they would need to have some means of guiding it to keep it from smashing into stuff. Unless we're to assume God did all the steering or something...

  But it is a very good article. The sheer numbers involved on every level are staggering and it's hard to imagine I took it all at face value before...

  Home alone

  i feel an odd clamness as i sit alone in my house.

  my wife and kids have just left for the meeting.

  Yeah, that's some of the best time ever, when the wife and kids go to the meeting. You can kick back, take a nap, watch an R-rated movie if you want, or play some video games... It's especially good when they're at the assembly. You can go out and catch a movie or check out the comic shop or...whatever you want.

  the society takes the hundred year anniversary of 1914 head-on with more spin and disinformation.

  already laid the groundwork with the "100 years ago" feature in the new yearbook.
