A story about Reggie and Reginald... and why it makes me cringe... more vomiting
by confusedandalone inso i grew up in new jersey in a very urban part of the state.
i literally only saw white folks if they were in a police car or if i went to the assembly.
the funny thing is at the assembly there was still a level of segregation as well although it was self-imposed.

governing body my bottom.
by Captain Blithering insat on the sound again, listening to this twaddle about the governing body, hearing the parrotted answers and cursing my stupidity and ignorance for the decades in which i did the same.
posting on here during a meeting is fun!

"So, how should we feel about the Governing Body? Uh, Brother Stanton?" [pdpdm *mike being passed*]
[needlessly loud] "UH, WE SHOULD FEEL, UH, THANKFUL THAT JEHOVAH HAS PROVIDED THESE SPIRITUAL MEN, UH...TO GUIDE US INTO THE NEW SYSTEM. SO UH, WE SHOULD FEEL THANKFUL."
"Alright."
Man, it's been awhile, but...the horror...the horror is vivid indeed...

The second group included in “this generation” are anointed contemporaries of the first group. They were not simply alive during the lifetime of those in the first group, but they were anointed with holy spirit during the time that those of the first group were still on earth. Thus, not every anointed person today is included in “this generation” of whom Jesus spoke.
So, it looks like we actually have three groups here:
1. Anointed who saw 1914.
2. Anointed who got anointed before Group 1 died off.
3. Anointed who got anointed after Group 1 died off.
It sounds like they're planning ahead for when this one doesn't pan out, to shift three groups into one 'generation'.
So I see that I haven't missed anything in my time away from this site. Inmates still running the asylum.

It's the best of both worlds. Magisterium with a disclaimer and a shun gun* to back it up.
*To learn more about shun guns, see 'The Beast-Tower' article "Shun Guns--Are They For Christians?", or some such drivel, published by the Beast-Tower Liable and Frakked Society of New Coruscant, Inc.

My kids watch that stuff all the time. I've noticed my 5-year-old talks a lot about death now for some reason. Maybe it's a phase, or maybe it's connected to 'My Book of Bible Stories' and the JW comic books with Lot's wife dying and 'Noah/David' videos and so on. Huh. Guess this is some sort of bizarre psychological experiment I'm observing. There's actually quite a lot of death and violence in these stories, I've found as I watch them. Caleb by comparison is actually a relief from planetary genocide and coloring in a dying woman's face and all that.
But heck, I read the same stuff, and I turned out okay. Well, there was that unfortunate incident with the broom stick awhile back, but no one was hurt, I assure you.
Anyway, kids are naturally going to ask questions about stuff like that, as they grow. They're good at seeing contradictions, better than adults because they have no previous assumptions when approaching stuff the first time. Your kid will be fine. Just so long as you teach them to think, they can handle the rest on their own, in time.

Major flub in Slavery Watchtower Study Article
by scotoma indo you ever wonder if the watchtower writers actually read the context of their key scriptures?.
they seem intent on perpetuating the idea that the jewish law was divine - perfect.. paragraph two asks the question "what would prompt an israelite slave to forfeit his opportunity.
to be free?".

It's just run-of-the-mill doublethink. There is and is not an understanding of how all this is connected to the way the organization operates. But it makes no difference to the writers of this article. I mean, heck, some of this stuff may well be cut-and-pasted from a previous article about the subject.
Just watch 'Roots' again and you'll figure it out:

Yeah, but God has always existed. The Bible says God always existed, and the Bible was written by God. Problem solved. Eat it, Dawkins!

Jude 22-25 JW apologists and anybody else.
by wearewatchingyouman in22 also, continue showing mercy+ to some who have doubts;+23 save them+ by snatching them out of the fire.
but continue showing mercy to others, doing so with fear, while you hate even the garment that has been stained by the flesh.+24 now to the one who is able to guard you from stumbling and to make you stand unblemished+ in the sight of his glory* with great joy,25 to the only god our savior through jesus christ our lord, be glory, majesty, might, and authority for all past eternity and now and into all eternity.
so, then - why does the gb separate those who become doubtful out of fear they will stumble some?

Does the GB Call God a Liar?
by TTATTelder inis the governing body defaming god's name?.
doesn't the claim to be "spirit-directed" and to be "jehovah's organization", to only turn around and spread falsehood (aka old light), actually indirectly call god a liar?.
