The whole practice is absolutely disgusting. I am really disheartened that it goes on in many different religions not JWs.
I just watched a very powerful video about some catholic cover ups that went on in Ireland. Warning it could be a trigger for some people (the guy describes what happened to him). This man is my hero.

Why the Memorial Is Held on the Wrong Day
by Leolaia intonight on the evening of april 18, 2011, observant jews worldwide will celebrate passover seder, a night "different from all other nights".
the watchtower society annually schedules the memorial for jehovah's witnesses on a date that is supposed to coincide with the jewish observance of passover, as it would have been reckoned during second temple times (in particular, in the first century ad during the life of jesus).
this year the memorial was observed last night, the evening of april 17. the two religious observances are thus a day out of synth, at least this year.

Well that is pure BS anyway, there are plenty of witnesses in my area going to college and specifically going through nursing programs.. I never saw any of them being marked, and I am pretty sure some of them were pioneering too?

Welcome, Independentthinker! If you want to try to get to your mom, you may want to recruit the rest of the family to help. I suggest reading Combatting Cult Mind Control and Releasing the Bonds by Steven Hassan. You are up against some powerful programming, and there are right and wrong ways to approach your mother. Also another thing to think about is, are your siblings aware of all of the things you now know? Sometimes people leave but they are still mentally trapped. They think they are just too "wicked" to be a witness or other similar hangups. It would be great to get them on the same page as you if they aren't already.
Kudos to you for being brave enough to be honest about your beliefs. It is a humbling experience to find the truth about the truth. If you have any questions post them here, everyone is happy to help!

are we to assume from this study that the battle of armageddon will be all over by the autumn of 1975, and the long-looked-for thousand-year reign of christ will begin by then?
possibly, but we wait to see how closely the seventh thousand-year period of man's existence coincides with the sabbathlike thousand-year reign of christ.
