What will happen if you are I.D'd ?
by wobble inmany on here are keen to hide their identity, me included, i don't want to be df'd and many of the views i express on here would be enough for most jc's to df me sine die.. anyone reading on here who knows me a little more than vaguely could work out who i am, my list of cars i have owned for example, on another thread.. but what could they do ?.
i know they could make a case, and then as happened to a young sister in a neighbouring congo.
say they would investigate why the bro.

If I'm identified what will happen???
NOT A DAMN THING
They already threw me out. Let em ID me, if they'd care to anymore. Funny how all concern about a "lost one" ends once they've gotten what they're after, an announcement.

Would any of you DESTROY ones faith and life as a JW if they were your dying grandparents?
by EndofMysteries inthis is a serious question, trying to decide the right thing to do.........i do believe in god, i am sorting out what i believe and true from lie and such.
have question on how atheist and just ones belief in god would respond to this.. .
if you have a grandparent, (or even some relative) who spent their entire life as a jw.

I'm an atheist but I feel that ones reality is based largely on ones perception. So, for you, one who actually believes in some invisible spooky keeper of the eternal clock, that reality is somewhat different from mine, though I can relate having at one time believed in god. What is your perception of god? If it is based largely on the old testament you feel that god is a vengeful god who's primary concern is that everyone worship him on his terms with little variation. If this is the case, in your eyes, you may be saving your grandparents eternal life, which, according to this version of the myth, could result in a not so pleasant afterlife for them if they are worshipping him in a manner which he doesn't deem acceptable.
If, though, you are more moderate and reasonable, you feel that a large part of worshipping god involves personal happiness and the way they have treated others. If this is the case and your grandparents feel content that they have made god happy to a reasonable degree, then why would you give them added stress?
Personally, I say let it be.For it would seem much more likely that IF god actually existed he would NOT be such a narrow-minded one. If it's all about treating others well and not causing harm, I suppose he'd not look so favorably on shattering someones faith.

Did JWs use you to get their time in?
by truthseeker inthis has happened to me on more than one occasion.
a jw suddenly notices you at the hall and asks to work with you.
this continues for a while and then you are dropped.

Nothing was ever said to actually confirm that this was being done to me, although there were the passing jokes ("well, I suppose I can start my time now that I've said 'Jehovah' in front of you), but I always had the suspicion and it always pissed me off.

yeah wildflower, about a month and a half. And it has been hellish. I was miserable and had to resort to driving in the lane farthest away from any food joints for a while, or even taking back roads to avoid seeing the damn places in the first place. Now it isn't too bad at all, as I've no idea what some of that fast food garbage would do to me now. The pain would far outweigh the pleasure I imagine. In any case, I also exercised a lot. We have this incredibly large and steep sand hill about twenty minutes from where I live that I make ten round trips on couple or three times a week. Kills the knees at first, but it's relatively low impact. Works up a good sweat. Between changing habits, cutting back on caloric intake, exercise, and tons of water, it's working well.

Furthermore, since you like veggies anyway, I'd suggest celery and broccoli, which, I understand, are negative calorie foods, meaning they take up more energy to process than they deposit. So you can pretty much eat to your hearts content with stuff like that. Also, though I understand you didn't say liver problems, but thyroid, get out in the sun for a bit every day, which should help with liver function. This is never bad. I hate being out in the sun, and when I say that I really mean that I detest it passionatly, BUT, it helps. Besides, if you're going to cut down on food and increase exercise, which ya hate, you might as well go for the entire miserable package right?

In about a month and a half I have lost nearly 30 pounds, begining March 27th. I've not cut out entire food groups, just large portions. I still have pizza here and there and the occasional ice cream cone (though the last one I had made my stomach ache so bad I shall seriouly think twice before having another one in the near future). I eat a lot of stir fry now. Mostly vegetables, lots and lots of those, some chicken, BROWN rice, and some pine apple to sweeten it up a bit. I eat a TON of that just about every day. I still use dip on veggies, just not as much. Most importantly, I drink a LOT of water. Sometimes around a couple gallons throughout the day. Fills ya up. I eat a little chocolate every day too. Coffee might help, with the caffine kicking up the metabolism a notch. I'm no pro, but these things have worked well for me.

Desi,
So good to have you here. When you come to that realization it is alarming, but it is worth it to, as they would say, "make the truth" about the troof "your own." If any of us can be of help somehow, make it known :) Again, good to have you hear and looking forward to knowing more about you and your experience.

How many people have read the bible...Graphic...

Brizzy, a lot of my questions and doubts developed after I started reading the Bible cover to cover as well. There were three things that always stood out and NEVER could be answered by any Witless I asked.
1. God killing children with bears for making fun of a bald prophet.
2. Two accounts discuss when David took the illegal census and got to choose his punishment. In one account it says that the Lord wanted him to do the counting and in the other it says that it was the devil who incited him to do so.
3. I want to say it was in Judges where the man gave up one of his women servants to the crowd who then raped her to death all night. To make an example of this, he cut her into twelve parts and sent her to the respective tribes of Israel.
Nobody could ever give me clear and direct answers as to any of these stories, their meanings, or how they were at all practical. Has anybody ever actually gotten a real answer about any one of these from a Witness?

I was JUST THINKING about that this morning. All of the Saturday mornings (and often afternoons) wasted on that mindless "work." What drivel. What a joke. And now I still can't enjoy a Saturday sleep in because I work Saturdays. Oh well, at least I get paid for this.
