The only viable alternative I see now is also a democrat...and I would rather see Obama than her.
A competitive candidate from either the independents (unlikely, but possible) or the republicans has not yet emerged.

I do not trust the Pubs to put a moderate forward, and since they probably won't, Obama will surely win.

I am not so sure - Obama has not been polling very well lately. Cynically, I could suggest that maybe the republicans could put someone forward who merely runs as a moderate - just like Obama did.
