  2010 predictions!

  here are my predictions for 2010:.

  ted jarez will not pass away.

  this will prevent any major reforms or restructuring and very much make this another "buisness as usual" year.new light on blood: there will be an article on blood; it will change the blood policy in a minor way as to loosen it up, but that will not be explicitly stated.

  I, too, have thought that they may merge the public WT and the Awake into one monthly magazine, though I don't know that it will be in 2010. Perhaps an announcement of that sort will be made during the coming year. Whenever they have made major printing changes in the past (such as making the Awake magazine monthly or splitting the Watchtower into public and private editions) they have started the new editions with the month of January. If there has been no notice to that effect thus far, I doubt it will happen until January of '11 at soonest.

  I predict that this will either be the last year that they disclose how many have partaken at the memorial, or be the first year that they don't mention a specific number at all.

  i've been out for a while now and, while i still find that those kingdom hall tunes rear their little heads from time to time in my mind, i have found that i am beginning to forget some of the words to many of them.

  how long did it take you to start breaking free from the bonds that those songs can have on the memory?.

  "I Don't Know What I Would Be Capable Of..."

  when one brother, who was a very close friend of mine for the whole duration of my time as a witness, realized that i not only wasn't going to meetings any longer, but had very serious doubts and questions, he made an interesting, and, i'll admit, rather unsettling comment.

  he was aware that, though i was missing from the hall, i was still close to a half dozen or so members, associating with some of them on a more than a once or twice weekly basis, and that the majority of these were having doubts of their own.

  he had me to his home for "a talk.

He was aware that, though I was missing from the Hall, I was still close to a half dozen or so members, associating with some of them on a more than a once or twice weekly basis, and that the majority of these were having doubts of their own. He had me to his home for "a talk." He went on about how I needed to look at things differently, and how I don't deserve the friendship of these people if I won't even go to a meeting here and there. But during one portion of this ranting monologue, when he got a bit heated, this brother said "You have seen me get angry before, but even I have no idea what I would be capable of if I knew a brother was trying to lead someone away from the truth. " Now, I don't exactly know how to take this, or what the hell to expect, especially because everyone seems to be giving me credit for helping a young sister think for herself recently and take steps to remove herself from the org. Did any Witnesses ever make threats against you, directly or implied, or make you feel intimidated? How might you have taken such a comment?

  What was your favorite Beatles song that you remember ?

  for myself growing up in the 60's it was mostly the beatles that drew my attention as well as many others.. as for the entire body of work by them, there might never be another four piece musical group like them.. sad to think that the younger generation today only has thug rap/hip hop trash or britney spears to listen to.. the quality of music may have diminished itself when it started to become more of a visual expression of art rather than .

  he said "is it worse for you to let something grow on your face that would do so naturally if it were not for shaving it, or would it be worse for a printing corporation to alter the historical jesus by portraying him in countless instances as a beardless fellow in order to promote their view of what a 'good witness' should look like?

  So a group of my friends and I got together last weekend, as we do once a month or so. One of the others, who lives a few hours from here, brought up an interesting subject, that of "upperdecking." He, apparently, was recently introduced to this activity. If you're not familiar with this...source of entertainment, allow me to explain. Upperdecking is the act of removing the lid of a toilet tank (where all the levers, chains, and other inner workings reside) and taking a dump in it. Granted, it sounds sort of amusing, but when you think about who has to clean it up and deal with the whole ordeal, why do you think someone would do this?

  did anyone experiance that first feeling of ehpuoria when they became a jw?

  it never lasted beyond a few weeks of course and was replaced by a lifetime of gulity and self loathing.

  but i was wondering what do you think casues that experiance?.

  Its an emotional high. It's the same high that the Witnesses discredit revivals and faith healings with. You're super smart, special, and have just joined the safety of Jehovah's organization. Of course you're going to feel good. You're a spiritual nephilem at that point and nothings gonna bring you down...at least for a week or so.
