Ha well I do remember after my nonJW family would say a prayer, my grandma or mom would lean over in my ear and say," Ok now say your prayer to yourself" because that was the worldy person saying a pray and God only heard his people's prayer!

The Watchtower Is Never "Really" Wrong
by minimus inno matter what they say, they're never really wrong.
misstatements serve a purpose!
they always reinvent their words or simply deny ever teaching certain things.. the witnesses are not a humble group of christians.

I know this sounds crazy... but I just said sorta the same thing yesterday... I don't know why but I was like "Well maybe cults aren't all that bad, you know like the witnesses" to my fiance. He looked at me stund and said "Yeah if you think brainwashing isn't bad" and then I thought wow and here I thought my fiance wasn't really listening to me about the whole religion thing. He cares dearly about my opinion and respects every aspect of it but he also sees the obvious and sees when a person is in denial. He doesn't say much but seriously his little comments go a long way.

do you know someone who is disfellowshipped or not active who still talks of "truth" and is still judgemental ?
by looloo ini have only known one , who talked more about the "wicked system" and satan and how immoral worldlys are etc than the jws i knew who were still "in" and he ended up abusing my daughter !
still never gone back 14 years after being disfellowshipped , some local dubs take that to mean jehovah didnt want him back till his abusive past (as a jw ) had been found out !
do you know someone very hypocritical ?.

I was and many of my DFed friends were. I also say my inactive mom is and my non baptised cousins are. I'd say most are unless they are approached by a person that knows about the truth behide the truth and then point out the flaws, help them see the denial but also help them see TRUELY NOBODY IS PERFECT... then guiding them in the right direction and letting them see their opinions and beleifs in their heart are worth holding onto.

Of the sexual abuse survivors you knew. . .
by Lady Lee inhow many fit this description provided by no longer held captive?.
as a nurse, i can tell you that their lives wont go well.
usually abused females end up neurotics and suffer from personality disorders, and more often than not, anorexic.

When I was first in counseling for the sexual abuse my counselor put me together with another incest survivor. We were both interested in group sup[port. But there was only 2 of us so we agreed to meet. I was so scared going into that first meeting. I expected to see a pathetic, poorly dressed, uncouth person when I walked into the room. Instead I saw a pleasant well, dressed pretty young woman. I was surprised, no shocked. After the meeting I thought about what my expectations were. It amounted to this. The image I expected was how I saw myself. But as Mouthy/Grace here has said many times I was a pretty young woman who took good care of myself. This is the person I thought was so ugly and terrible
What we believe isn't necessarily true. Sometimes we need an outside opinion that is unbiased. That is a bit of what a counselor can do for you
Yes that is so true... and yes you were a beautiful young woman!! I'm going to see what it will take to get a counselor in my area. I am not really financially able to get one now but I will when I can. As for now I'm going to invest in those books!
Thank you again,

Trinity, 144,000, Earthly Paradise, and 1914 ...hmmm
by Butterflyleia85 inhttp://144000.110mb.com/index.html.
ok i read this for 2 hours now, rereading it at least 6 times... still don't get it.. i still don't believe in the trinity as god jesus and holy spirit being one.
i am starting to see how the number 144,000 can be symbolic sence the rest of revelation is symbolic.

What's in it for the Governing Body?
by dissed infor many jw's, they point to the gb as wonderful examples of zealous, humble, older men that are only serving jg for right and correct reasons.. unlike many of the preachers we see on tv, they are, and this is the important point, 'not in it for the money'.. of course we see them differently on this site, exposed many times over, as being self-serving hypocrites.. but if you want to win-over a jw doubter, this is one of the questions you have to answer.
"what's in it for the gb member?
why are they doing this if not for the money?".

I think not only the loyalty and reconized as a greater source... but also feeling important and in control. They have their members loyality through how they beleive, how they live, and how they think... (such responciablity... geez and when it doesn't work out for the members, cut them off til they ajust theirselves to make it work!!) ... Mostly control. And hey they got to keep the organization going so... donation... Money. Wow with the control anything is possiable.

Yay!!! It's been about a month and still determined... not as consistant as I like it to be but I am getting about two strong workouts a week. I know it's hard work but I'm pushing myself. I also had to workout good this week because I ate alot this Superbowl. I'm setting myself a eating plan to help me been more consistant and help balance my weight with the workouts I do. Well don't know if anyone else is on a start of a healthy lifestyle but I know the struggle and wish you the best!! We can do it!!
Much love & encouragement,
