Wow....Amazing as usual, Paul!
it is simply a legal, worldly corporation run by men.
Your final sentence on that page of your site says it all. You are just a file in a cabinet in "The Truth".....
it has taken me a long time, but i have finally put together an article outlining how i used the law to force bethel to send me my personal files.
it is a very long article full of scans, so i have linked to it at http://jwfacts.com/watchtower/experiences/personal-files-privacy-act-1988.php.
in brief, in 2006 i requested that bethel send me my files on the basis that the australian privacy act 1988 entitles people to receive a copy of any information a corporation holds about them.

i remember when i first started questioning the wts/jws.
there were so many scandals and teachings and history to explore and research.
i needed to learn everything i could about every little inconsistency, every mistake, every scandal in order to convince myself that i was on the correct path to freedom from this false religion.
While their past lies and false prophecies are damning enough, it hits home when it's something you lived through and experienced first hand.
Another thought Undercover....this is just a great thread.
I have been going down a similar path, in the sense that I have been trying to build the PERFECT case against the WT, mainly for my family.
Pedophilia, 607/587, Russell, Rutherfraud, Hitler, Disfellowshipping, etc.......I have been seaching for that "AH HA, I got you!" moment.
But you know what - the main thing is that I know in my heart that it is all a bunch of BS. We were duped. I lived in fear of something that NEVER CAME. When I was a child of the 1980's, most of the adults in the hall thought Armageddon was imminent! Reagan and Brezhnev/Andropov/Cherneko both had their hands on the button, ready to launch.......The UN declared 1987....drum roll please......"THE YEAR OF PEACE!!!!"
That must be the call of peace and security!
Well, OK - now that passed. That generation must have a few more years to go.......
Then the new millenium came. The year 2000 - well, people born in 1914 would be 86 years old now. I guess "that generation" must refer to the few old timers who were lucky enough to live past 80 years of age.......wait for it.......
I try not to live in regret - thinking how life might have been without "The Truth" but you cant help but think how you wasted lots of wonderful days of life, not to mention the time, energy, and FEAR that it took to be a staunch JW.
the "total gym" thread above got me thinking.. there is only one force on this earth powerful enough to bring down the wtb$.. .
when god said, "let there be light", chuck norris said, "say please.".

y'all are nothing like the people with whom i work, nor like those with whom i attended meetings at the kingdom hall.. what gives???.
lol.. sylvia.
My sister and my father said they knew I would come out of the JW's one day. They said I was too smart for that.
I hope I am not hijacking your thread Sylvia , but OTWO's comment really hit home.
I had a conversation with a family member the other day who was warning me about "questioning the truth"
They said, "You are an extremely bright man, and I worry about the path you are going down."
I was thinking "What does being intelligent have to do with it?"
Witnesses always say "The Truth stands up to any scrutiny"
Well, if that is the case, why is it so wrong to use your brain and scrutinize it?
They are deathly afraid of what they might discover - I am convinced of that more than ever, especially after I started reading Steve Hassan!!

Here's the cover, wonder how many in this photo are even still alive? I'd bet ZERO.
Wing Commander, I dont think any of those folks were alive when the picture was taken!!!
Awesome thread Undercover, I am taking notes as we speak!!!
on 9/11, an elder: it's sad but exciting!on a loved one dying: we can cope far better with this due to the resurection.on the tsunami, an elder: if they think this is bad, wait untill they see what happens at armageddon (smiling).on armageddon, an elder: i want to be able to see the people dying.on execution at god's hands, a pioneer: it'll put them out of their misery.on the swine flu virus, a pioneer: it'll mean less people for jehovah to kill at armageddon.on the birth of my daughter, a prominent elder: be carefull not to fall into the trap of 'baby worship'on the death of my non jw grandmother, an elder: be carefull at the funeral not to become involved in false worship (don't sing my grans favourite hymn)on the topic of my non jw sisters wedding, the po: if it falls on the weekend of the convention, you should make your stand & not go to the wedding.there is, of course, a normal response to each of these situations.
there is a human response.
one that is touched by the tragedy.
On armageddon, an elder: I want to be able to SEE the people dying.
Gee, wouldnt a self-righteous nut-bag be the first to go?
You are so right with your assessment. The day of 9/11 I was at work, and we were all in shock.
I got to the Kingdom Hall that night, and there was this VERY strange energy in the room - people were saying similar things. "Wow, this must be it!"
In what way was that EXCITING????
I always think of how the society quotes Russell during World War I as being all happy "Well, the Gentile Times have ended, the Kings have had their day!" WTF - millions of people are being slaughtered and you are feeling smug about the so-called fulfillment of your prophecy?
it's not too soon to start mentioning that to jw's- let them know that 100 years is a long time and even g-d only made the israelites wander in the wilderness for 40 years, before he brought them to the promised land.
let the doubt begin creeping in and let the jw's know they aren't the only ones with doubts.
i will mention 2014 to jw's from now on- it's a date that the wt hopes the jw's will ignore..
The next set of "NEW LIGHT" will teach us that a centennial no longer means 100 years!
Besides wasn't "That Generation" supposed to be able to "understand" the events of 1914?
Who were the WHO singing about back in 1964? I guess it was for ME, even though I wasnt born yet!!

growing up, she and mary mcleod bethune and ida bell wells barnett were my heroes.. sylvia.
A real hero in my book.
She is right up there with Jackie Robinson, MLK, Rosa Parks, and all the others!
I have heard good things about it.
If Chuck Norris endorses it, it has to be awesome!
"The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself. And Chuck Norris" - FDR
"If at first you dont succeed, you're not Chuck Norris."
at the special assembly day they interviewed a elder who came into the truth in the early 50's he had just signed up for collage and was starting his life at the age of 18 or 19 then he learned the truth.
a elder came to him and asked why he wanted to go to collage when the system's end was so close.
he realized that the elder was right.
When I went to my last elders' school, they had a part about the lack of value of a higher education.
They interviewed 3 guys who had attended and graduated college and were now elders.
The whole part was about how worthless their education was, how it didn't compare to the spiritual treasures they now had, etc......
Well, which elders at that school had the best paying jobs, wore the best suits, and drove the nicest cars?
Yep - those three! 2 were executives at major companies, and the other was an engineer.
