From Jon, My Brother

i had a brother.

his name was jon.. jon was a sweet, super sensitive guy.

also, a very tortured soul.

That was a wonderful posting. That opened up a lot of memories for me personally as well.

I had 2 friends who took their own life when I was much younger, and I always wondered why.

Well, like Jon, I truly believe they were homosexual.

The situation you described has so much in common with their stories.My heart breaks when I think of the angst that Jon and others have struggled through.

The biggest eye-opener for me was when I was a teenage kid and found out a "worldly relative" was homosexual. How would I react when I met them? What would they be like?

Well, we hit it off instantly. My relative would give you anything - a kind, loving, and generous person.

We have been close since the day we met, and since that day, I have never view homosexuals through the eyes of WT dogma.

It really pisses me off that the WT chose "Love Never Fails" as part of the year text, since their version of love is so twisted and defiled.

TRUE LOVE never fails........thanks again for such a touching story.

Does anyone find it too painful to read the WTS publications?

been out 13 years and even for research purposes, i find it way too painful to read this wt stuff.. and why?.

all the painful memories it brings back.

don't misread me, it has nothing to do with a guilty conscience.. it has to do with the real pain, the anger of being ripped off and lied too by the wts, the anger of seing how they have protected child molesters, sacrificed its followers by refusing blood transfusions, the treacherous way we and others were treated by the 'unloving brothers'.

I end up picking it apart to shreds and all it does it put me in a bad mood.

Even if there were some good beneficial things in it, I couldnt get past the BS......

Alright, the Bee Gees are my guilty pleasure.

I love rock, metal, etc.......but I think those guys are brilliant songwriters.

I love their pre-1970 albums.....

If you listen to their 1960's work, there is a lot of Beatles influence - lots of musical styles, great harmonies, etc.

I love the Odessa album - its the pinnacle of their 1960's sound for me.

Of course, I dig the R&B and Disco flavored stuff......Stayin Alive is one of my favorite songs.

Even in the 1980's when they were villified by everyone, they just wrote #1 hits for other artists.

Yes, they have put out their share of schlock, but I think their catalog speaks for itself.

i bought atlantic crossing when it was new - on vinyl (1970s ?

) - just for the sweetly melancholic i am sailing.. mr. stewart's voice, since those earlier days, has sadly deteriorated [imho] in what you are about to hear.. but the guitarist!

I love Rod's early albums - I thought they were amazing......everything through Atlantic Crossing was really good.

Some of his albums of the 80's though - OUCH....total filler garbage.
