  Did you loathe going in field service, if so why?

  i always felt like i was not a "spiritual" person because i loathed going in field service.

  i'm not even sure why i loathed it.

  i am very outgoing and can talk to anyone, anytime, about anything.

  A JW reading this would say: "see, this is why you left the Truth, you didn't wanted to do God's work!"

  Yep, hated it too. My reason was very clear to me: I didn't like bothering people! If I happened to find someone who seemed genuinely interrested I loved going to him/her, talking about just how bad this world is, how good God is, etc. etc. But knocking on an unknown's door, and in 99% getting the houseowner pissed off was just not right.

  I knew I didn't like it when that happened to me. When I'm home most of the time I am busy with something, either some housework, or watching TV, etc. In all cases a distraction is not welcome. If it's a distraction I don't even want, then it's an annoyance. And I knew I was the person who delivered that annoyance to others.

  Since leaving I'm very naughty. I even watched some... *gasp* R rated movies! I am certainly doomed.

  That is all though, not much else have changed. It's just not my style, whether in or out.

  did anyone get that bit in the watchtower last week about no questions allowed what so ever!!

  Yep, it's weird to see how much alike the JWs and the rest of the world are, isn't it? They have their nice people, we have our nice people, they have their wackos, we have our wackos... So then forget about the people, and look at the rest. You have a problem with not being allowed to question. So do I. That is enough for me personally to not want to be part of it, even if they were the nicest group of people on Earth.

  I told my husband that I'm going to throw away my no blood card

  i discussed my view with him and he understood the point i made but said that until he receives further instruction from the gb he will still refuse a transfusion.

  i asked him if he would deny me a blood transfusion if i needed one and he said, "i don't know.

  i went to lunch with my non-jw aunt and cousin and told them about the conversation.

  Good for you, my wife did quite the opposite. She told me to cut her out of the blood card, because she would never witness for me in an emergency. Great darling, don't worry about it So my card lies buried deep in a drawer, and I have her word (without even asking for it) that she won't do anything.

  If I remember right, that is simply because the ancient hebrews didn't have a separate word for "grandfather", and "father" was used more like you would use the word "ancestor".

  A "Brother" wore a WT logo tie tack today

  after the meeting, a few people came up to show me some fake love like the wt lesson instructed (this is my 4th meeting in a row in over a year of not going, yuck!!).

  i noticed one of them was wearing a tie tack of the watchtower logo.

  its ok to idolize, by wearing, the corporate symbol of a worldwide multi-billion dollar company, but a cross is wrong?

  However, consideration should be given to making a change if it would be minor and would not require extensive work. Otherwise it can be made when the building or sign is scheduled for renovation.

  Hm, my old KH had a huge stylized watchtower (the building, not the magazine) above the entrance. It won't be minor at all to alter. I wonder how long will it last there...

  KT: the main problem is not that JWs help JWs first. Read Mary's post carefuly. Thenk think why did Jesus feed the hungry ones, and please quote from the Bible all the passages where Jesus said something like: "Look! I have given food to the hungry! That's how much love there is in me. Therefore come to me to teach you the Truth about God."

  Ex-JWs on Youtube band together when Silent Lambs is attacked by JW...

  hey folks, i thought i'd come on here with a quick update of something really cool on youtube.

  there was a woman named smagisa who is an active jw that goes on youtube and basically does all the stereotypical things responding to videos.

  everyone talking bad about the organization is speaking bad against god and only doing so because they're disfellowshipped or whatever.

  I'm starting to think she may have some sort of brain damage, other than the regular cult-related one. Even a JW can't be that stupid to say the victims are to blame. And when a huge number of responses called her out on this stupid comment, what does she do?

  Edit: at least it seems like she is accusing SmokingNtheGraveyard over the video posted here too (the second one below Smagisa's). It's not easy to make out what is her problem, partly due to her technical difficulties.

  i read them last night in a book i am reading : - "awakening of a jehovah's witness" by diane wilson.
