Sharon's memorial

the memorial for my cousin, sharon, who died of breast cancer on september 6, was yesterday.

it was standing room only, and it was obvious how many people really loved her.

i couldn't help but think of all the absent ones, who had been her lifelong friends, and how sad it was that they stayed away.

Thankyou for posting that Mulan.....

I have had a few tears reading it and still find it hard to believe she has gone. the times we chatted will always remain in my heart and mind. Sharon was truly a lovely person inside.

I went to a funeral a coule of years back of a young ex-Jw girl who had just come to know the true Lord. She died peacefully in her sleep. Her mother and relatives had to get permission to attend her funeral at the Baptist church ..... and her ex-JW father and brother were really so moving.

Like in sharon's funeral, it was a celebration of her life and a witness of God's love for us ...... and the JW's squirmed in that front row like they had a bad dose of worms!!

It is so different isn't it ..... one celebrates death and the other celebrates life ....

All of you give each other a hug for me will you and give one to the rest of the family ...... I really came ot love and appreciate Sharon the short time I was able to get to know her

Tickets for special meeting changed!

hey all,.

i've been out all day, so i apologize in advance if anyone already posted this info.. one of my jw relatives (whom i happened to see while visiting my dad this afternoon) told my mother that she'd have to "turn in her ticket to the elders to get a replacement.

" from what she said, they've changed the color of the ticket.

theyll check the blood card. this seems like a far better security system. who else would risk carrying one?

I would even make one of those especially for the meeting if I had to so that wouldn't stop anyone .......

Did you ever have an experiance with Holy Spirit?

i have never felt the intervention of the holy spirit in my life.

maybe that is one of the reasons i never felt like a good christian.. i think someone can take any situation and say it was the holy spirit acting in their life if they want to believe bad enough.

i saw my mother do this many times.. anyone here had any experiences that they felt was the holy spirit acting in their lives?

I can tell you that was the case ...... I no longer have access to the xray, but they showed a complete healing of an ankle that had bee broken the day before. The only evidence was a slight thickening of the bone as normally occurs. All pain was gone instantly and I could walk, jump and run. In addition, I worked 12 hour days on my feet for 12 days at our Exhibition (State Fair) starting three days later.

Now, my mother didn't believe either until she saw it all for her self.

Now you know why it got my attention!

Yes, I have and it was a little awe inspiring.

Sometimes God intervenes for a reason, and it cannot be questioned.

Mine resulted in a broken ankle being completely healed instantly after I swore at God for not caring about me or my family. Now why he did it for me then and not others i don't know. Why he hasn't done it since I don't know ..... but he did get my attention

I have helped a few families here in Australia who had people in this cult, and we have managed to get three out of the Ozzie one so far. Their stories were just as horrific!!!!!

By 18 months their children daren't even look as though they want to cry .... they have a great fear of the whipping stick that is used on them from babyhood.

my sister just informed me that my other sister who is an active jw, said all those who are unbaptized publishers and active baptized witnesses have been invited to attend a special meeting some time this month (september 2001).

My sister just informed me that my other sister who is an active JW, said all those who are unbaptized publishers and active baptized witnesses have been invited to attend a special meeting some time this month (September 2001). No one else will be admitted (no one in the "world", no inactive witnesses nor any who are disfellowshipped). This special meeting is supposed to take place world wide.
Have you heard anything on this?

Farkel Hits the Bread Line

i had a very positive experience today which maybe not-so-coincidentally coincided with my recent comments on matthew 25.. it was only my second personal experience with babylon the grape in my entire life.

my first was when one of my daughters got married in a catholic church over three years ago.

i actually sat inside the catholic chapel and watched her priest perform the ceremony.

I guess it is the same in the USa, but here if you go to a Salvation Army or St Vincent De Paul outlet they will arrange for you to get a food parcel which will have bread, breakfast cereals, butter, jelly, some meat and veges and they will even give you a voacher for gas if you need to get to work or an job interview. You can even get Vouchers to use at local food stores where you can choose what you need, but you cannot get booze of cigarettes on it.

So don't starve Farks ..... look up your local phone book and phone one of them .... and you don't even have to give thanks <G>

You can also get vouchers to get clothing from their chothing outlet stores free of charge ....

Those here who know me can tell you that if you were here and needed help, I would put you all up and help out of my own pocket, even if it meant thinning the soup down for all of us. If I was out of beds and floor space etc, then I would find someone to put you up, feed and clothe you etc and if they couldn't afford to feed you then I would pay for it myself.

At one stage I had over 10 people here besides my own family of 5 - so I think you need to rethink you viewpoint there mate.
