please help important to helping my father break free........

dear members about a month ago i read about an article in the watchtower november i think ....... it was titled something along the lines of "how to be a friend to jesus" the answering paragraph explained something along these lines ~ " to be a friend to jesus remain faithful to the organisation obey the faithful and descrete slave ..... and then something about the elders on more of a personal level".

could someone please post the "how to be a friend to jesus" article and confirm which watchtower it is in ?.

or if possible direct me to that particular post ........ this would be greatly apprieciated .

in my youth i never once found that this long running seris of articles by the borg ever addressed what i really wanted to know, nor did they really offer any answers to the questions they posed themselves in the articles.

it was normaly " should i do this thing that is fun and normal?

" answer "no, you should go on the ministry more and tell the elders about your youthfull desires so that they can punish you ( lovingly(!)".

given the fact that the majority of jw are lets say less educated than the general population.

whose going to run the hospitals power plants waterworks you know general infrastructure in every country there are jws after armageddon or is jehovah simply going to get the angels to do the grunt work?

whats easier for man to accept .......

recently i was asked by a fellow christian brother:.

"whats easier for man to accept (1) that you are saved by the love and grace of god or (2) that your salvation is dependant on works ?".

it may have been my jw upbringing that jolted me to answer quickly " oh that's easy that your saved by grace " ........................... i paused ............................................. i looked to the floor ........... " its easier to accept that i have to work for my salvation ".

What is your thought in this

my wife and i (who are both faders) were having a discussion the other day about how most of the jw kids who were teens in the 90's have now left the religion.

i mentioned from personal examples of people i knew, that the one ones who left early (around age 17-19) seemed to end up (though difficult at first) with better lives.

i knew of several who went to college, or learned a trade, married out of the religion and eventually moved on with their lives.
i picked up an old JW publication make a good fathers day pressie ~ !

i picked up a copy of "hyms of millennial dawn 1905" at an op shop for my dad cost me 20 c think he'll like it ~ wonder how much its worth.

81 years old and still going fairly strong.

my older sister was the first one to leave the dubs in our 3rd gen jw family.
