oh hello wantstoleave ~ yes i was born in 78 when i think of it now it almost seems like a dream ~ oh my god went through the motions the whole peace and security thing, witnessing hoping that school friends would not answer the door, the generation thing ~ four meetings a week ~ i think often about the youth of my day which offcourse consisted of only JW's ~ i think each one of us had our own way of dealing with the over exposure of what was to come (armagedon) ~ i would love to see some of them now ~ i think we all share something very common that is hard for me to put into words ~ i wonder if at all it would be possible to get a list of the brothers and sisters from my era from somewhere so i could possibly look them up on facebook ~ i'd love to share with you wantstoleave

NO ONE KNOWS THE PLEASURE OF A CANCELLED ASSEMBLY LIKE JW YOUTH (let alone a jw childhood and thats why i love this site)

whats easier for man to accept .......
by exjwbennymcd1978 inrecently i was asked by a fellow christian brother:.
"whats easier for man to accept (1) that you are saved by the love and grace of god or (2) that your salvation is dependant on works ?".
it may have been my jw upbringing that jolted me to answer quickly " oh that's easy that your saved by grace " ........................... i paused ............................................. i looked to the floor ........... " its easier to accept that i have to work for my salvation ".

What is your thought in this
by superman inmy wife and i (who are both faders) were having a discussion the other day about how most of the jw kids who were teens in the 90's have now left the religion.
i mentioned from personal examples of people i knew, that the one ones who left early (around age 17-19) seemed to end up (though difficult at first) with better lives.
i knew of several who went to college, or learned a trade, married out of the religion and eventually moved on with their lives.

i am of the 80's & 90's generation and left mainly because of the whole generation will not die out thing ~ side order of girls helped the progression ~

what happened to "peace and security"???
by highdose ini remember growing up as a dub that everyone was constantly on the look out for what could be the cry of peace and security... then suddenly people just stopped, it stopped being mentioned in talks ... everything.
theories please?.
-
exjwbennymcd1978
ha ha too true saw that coin also ~ i remember being told this one the 80's were big man (for armagedon talk anyways)
mum: "as soon as you see on them on tv saying peace and security armagedon will come"
me: "what stright away"
mum: "as soon as they utter the words"
just a thought when we were kids we'd swear on things; it go a little like this ~ "i promise to jehovah and if im lying i wont go to the new world"
anyone ~ ????
