The women I work with, every time they get a free moment, they relate to me the latest from Facebook. The only thing I've found really fascinating is when you google people you work with(yeah I'm a nebby mofo) or people that you've met throughout the years. Its interesting how much information they're willing to divulge about themselves. I don't have a Facebook account, so I can only view so much. But I love seeing pictures of girls I went to middle and high school with to see how they look nowadays, or what they're doing with themselves. Sometimes when I find them I go, "wow, she grew up!" Others I see, "wow, she blew up. 300 LBs and two kids and she got the nerve to be looking for a man SMH."

booby, what I want to know is when they were spending so much effort and money to restore it, yet Armageddon was always right around the corner, shouldn't I have picked up on that?
Armageddon being right around the corner has never stopped them from investing and milking the publishes for everything they can get. But don't you think about going to college, or think about the possibility of retiring in this system of things.

The kids are not in school. I work all day, and she is a stay at home mom. I don't think there is anything I could do to keep her from taking the kids. Plus, the kids need their mommy. She really is a good mommy...The best actually...
This is what kills me. I'm don't want to overly criticize your wife as its disrespectful to her and you as her husband. However, its interesting to me that in your situation and SD's situation, the stay at home moms are for all appearances taking advantage of you guys.

KS10- Chapter One Discussion
by yknot infirst and foremost i want to thank all the brothers (and one or two sisters) who were pdfing like mad to get these 'pre-kingdom school' chapter reviews ready (as per boe ltr these are 1,2,4-7,9 & 11)!.
for those of you trying to see who could do the entire book i want to let you know we had a 'dark horse' enter this race and his email was so compelling he is our 'winner' in being responsible for the full book (forthwith coming in the next day or so)-- and i will reveal more about him (as per his wishes) then.. so lets not waste anymore time in reviewing chapter one of the 'shepheding the flock of god' published by the wts (a non-profit organization whose purpose of this publication like all others is provided as part of a worldwide bible educational work.

You tease...
I don't want to hijack this thread, plus I just got the book so I haven't had the time to really get into it. I like how Ynot is running this show, so I'm gonna hold off from doing any threads or posts that aren't in harmony with her direction.

At what point did you realize JW's were a Cult?
by Think About It inmost of us x-jw's at one point no doubt defended the jw's when called a cult.
althought being out since 95', when i first came here it took awhile before i could use the cult word to describe the jw religion.
finding out about the pedophile scandal was disgusting, but it was probably finding out here about the wts history and terrible personal experiences of some on this board that made me finally admit that the jw's were a cult.

Ya know something, I'm not entirely disagreeing with you, but I still hesitate to call it a cult. Call it my upbringing or background, but I just can't call it that. Maybe I have a warped view of what a cult actually is. I still picture a cult as the folks in Waco, or Powers Boothe sweating in his chair while everyone drinks the kool aid. I find it difficult to lump JWs in with that crowd.

Ynot I love the slow bleed you're doing on this book. I'm glad you've got some contacts helping you out. I don't know how far you've got with the book, but there's some interesting information towards the middle and end of the book. I started browsing it last night, but haven't had a chance to really delve into it. Just wanted to say, the sections on holidays and disassociation are interesting.

I'm not one to start rumors but a little birdy told me that its Bronze or one might say Caramel shade, and has a picture of a shepherd standing near a tree surrounded by several sheep. He's looking up towards the sky which is cloudy. This same lil birdy told me that the book is entitled, "Shepherd The Flock Of God" and even lists 1 Peter 5:2 on the cover as a reference. I'm just going off of what he said. Its not like I've seen this book or anything................

Someone just gave me some information today I wanted to verify if at all possible. At any time during that Annual Meeting, was there any information from the platform along the lines of not being critical of the Faithful & Discreet Slave? I got this information second hand, and I question the accuracy of what was relayed to me. Has anybody else heard this? To not be overly critical of the Faithful and Discreet Slave, or the Governing Body? The way this person relayed it to me was that people are a little more than outspoken regarding the direction being recieved from Bethel and the Branches. Is this true?
