I don't think that's by coincidence either. I have a copy of this via the bound volumes. My dad needed me to get something in his attic, and I decided to spend a little more time up there than usual just for this.

This is one of those moments in life where its appropriate after reading something like this to take a deep breath and say, "damn."
Ok, opinions everyone. Do I leave the ending hanging like that or do I keep going?
Leave it hangin, leave the conclusion up to the reader. The point was made, and its fitting to leave specifics of the conclusion in limbo as it coincides with the limbo we as long time JWs are in.

They really are pooping their pants over these latest "signs"...
by undercover ini've seen a few threads/posts where some of y'all have heard from jw contacts and how they've stepped up their 'the end is close' rhetoric because of the earthquake/tsunami in japan.
i usually take those things with a grain of salt.
there's always some jw whose cheese has slipped that reads prophecy into every little thing that happens.

If the WTS would propose a "get out of jail free" policy -- get rid of the shunning for DA and let everybody out that wants out -- no repercussions on them -- how many would RUN for the door??? What % do you think would jump at the chance to exit as long as it did not meaning losing their family and friends??
I'd venture to say 20% to 33% would leave pretty quickly. I'd also venture to say it'd be the age range of the age 18 to mid 40ish that would make the decision to leave.

Think about the mental state of the every JW today. There,s not
much to rave about in JW world. The same old BS until something
like this occur, it gives them hope for A short period of time. It
rejuvenate their faith, it strengthen their faith. They are pooping
their pants because this is A small victory for their side, ( in their
delusional mind).
I never really thought about it from this angle before, but your're right. The JW life is such a boring, empty, unfulfilling life. It's like being dead, yet alive at the same time, and any relief is on an extended hiatus. I imagine some JWs have wanted Armageddon to come even if they die during it, just so the emotional tug of war is over. Its like if you die, either way you win. You win because you don't have to slave for a religious publishing company any more. Such an unfulfilling life. Makes you wonder whats the point of birth if you're being born into a family of devout JWs. Better off dead.

Are we losing members quicker than the WT ??
by wobble inreading a thread from just a few months ago, made me realise that a lot of people who used to be regular contributors here no longer do so.. i know that people have always moved on, as the anger and hurt get less, as the wt mind-set totally disappears, we feel the need to come here less and less, but because of the intelligence, insight, wit and wisdom of these people, the board is somewhat impoverished each time one of these moves on.. this is a plea to all who post now, and some who still read but don't post, please do not leave us entirely, the contributions on here are literally life-saving for many.
it is easy to get dangerously suicidal when the whole wt pack of cards falls down for you.. please do not become a stranger to us !.

I think its a good thing people come and go. To some degree it means that people are capable of moving on in life. This may sound unrealistic, but I'd like to see the day when message boards such as this are no longer needed.
