Not up on things, but I thought he wasn't going to play any way. But at his age, this was probably his last chance.

Do you feel that suicide is wrong?
by dandingus inminimus got me thinking with his thread about whether or not you know anyone that committed suicide.
i think it might be interesting to see what the opinions are.. what do you think?.
are there cases where it is understandable?

I would consider it if I was terminally ill. Really just to speed up the process, if...I was in very bad shape.

You have brought new meaning to the term 'The Throne room' where the good news of the kingdom is preached and the A** is wiped clean.

Jehovah God - This is the last time we talk, because I don't believe in you anymore
by dissed injust finished watching a 'worlds apart' a danish movie portraying a young jw girl leaving the wt and dealing with the shunning of her family.
this was one of the last thoughts in the movie.
her final prayer to jehovah after being treated harshly by her family and elders.. "jehovah god, this is the last time we talk, because....i don't believe in you anymore".

I think some one said Blockbuster had the movie.
For me, there was a clear time when I felt He wasn't listening to my prayers, so I stopped except for the meal and meeting ones. It was after a year that I said no more.
Our family has been out for 13 years now. When in we pioneered as a family, worked on the quick builds, helped many to Baptism. We thought we were happy, but since leaving, we feel we have found a real life. It took a year or two to get accustomed to the outside, but now we have a solid purpose and have found much joy.
The especially good thing? My daughter was 5 when we left and so we got to raise her with a balanced healthy life. She graduates HS this May and already agreed to intern at a horse training facility (her passion) while attending college. She's on good road for a happy life with none of the JW hangups that we carried.

JWs having trouble renting town hall for Memorial due to alcohol ban

We had the police raid the KH during the memorial once. This was a dry county, and someone, an apostate? called the police and said the JW's were drinking wine in their church. They came in force, and the Elders had to plead with them it was for ceremonial purposes only and NO ONE would drink it. They let the meeting go on and watched the proceeding till the end.
Damn apostates! lol
Now if they let them do it........wouldn't it be nice if someone called and complained they were serving wine, passing it around, with children present? Groveland may raid them as well.

I don't think she became an athiest from her final prayer, so much as she no longer believes in the WT god.
My wife said she has an occassional 'prayer like thought', but never to the god of the WT, Jehovah.

Do You Personally Know Of Anyone That Committed Suicide?
by minimus inlately, i've come to find out that a more than a few people in the area had killed themselves.
most of the people i know of were in their early twenties or forties.
for those loved ones surviving them, it was mostly a shock!

One JW in particular, a young lady who was always striving for perfection. A very good friend who committed adultery with a Bible study, came home to write a note to the Elders, her husband and two year old daughter, then took sleeping pills.
Unfortunately, many take this route, but knowing her so well, it was the WTS she couldn't handle. The always striving for perfection, never feeling your actions are good enough, judging and comparing yourself to others, then not being able to handle a slip in your own life.
The JW's 'the happiest people on the planet', yeah right. What a delussional self serving lie.

It was similar for me. Following a bad experience, then praying and feeling no one was listening. After that, for about year, I prayed at meetings, meals, etc....but it was ONLY for show and had no meaning.
Once we moved away from that cong. I told my wife, No More! I wasn't part of this religion. After a few days, she agreed, and we have never been back.
Kind of embarrassing to talk about this, no? Man were we fooled.
