  Stupidest JW meeting answers

  i was thinking about some stupid non-sensical answers i have heard over the years.

  "we all know the blue whale is the biggest fish"

  "we were on the ministry and met a coloured couple.

  I don't remember other's stupid comments, just mine.

  A CO asked us during his service talk about inventions that have helped us in the ministry?

  Several answers came forth, then I raised my hand and said. "I've always liked Coke machines". He looked at me slightly puzzeled and laughed. Then I said "they really are cool, especially when they malfunction and you get a free one."

  I was standing in the back and several tuned around to look at me. Most laughing, some judging. Then I said the REAL stupid thing.

  "Hey, Jehovah provides!"

  1914 only mentioned ONCE in new book! Can anyone confirm this?

  in the new release, 'bearing thorough witness about gods kingdom' i could only find a single reference to 1914 on page 31. this is it;.

  "each year, hundreds of thousands accept this offer and become baptized disciples of christ.

  indeed, we are living at the time of the "restoration of all things" referred to by peter.

  recently i talked to some jw, even so called strong ones in the truth:.

  i noticed, they do not believe everything from the wts, for example:.

  one older sister, a close relative of mine, she has been pioneering for years, babtizes over 40 years ago, mentioned, that sometimes she wonders about certain teaching, but she can not say anything, because somebody would say, she speaks against jehovah himself..further she said, she remmebers 1975, and that the society tried to blame the brothers, but was clearly responsible itself... i was quit shocked to hear that from her, and i added some careful comments in the same direction.... other brothers do not agree with certain teachings, like resurrected ones will not marry, or animals will not eat each other etc.... maybe those are "minor" issues, but if you doubt one teaching of gods channel, doesnt that mean, you doubt the whole thing ?.

  Isaac.....

  I just mentioned this to wifey. She said I was very unusual in that if I had a question, I would research it out and always come to a WTS conclusion. I was very receptive to their line of thought.

  Understand, that I believed this to the point that I sacrificed everything to serve them in the fulltime service for over 25 years.

  If I ever wrote a book about my experience with them, it could be titled, "I was a cheerleader for the WT for 25 years!"

  I see where AE is coming from. Although I would never boast like that, "I have no doubts" I never put things on the shelf as many did, and tried diligently to research a topic out.

  When we left, I had no doubts, not with the doctrines at least. Like you said, it was some external issue that drove us away and opened our eyes to the real truth.

  For several years, we still didn't question the JW's. We were loyal inactive's. lol

  It was only while visiting my wife's father, while he was dying during Xmas, that we started to change.

  The family JW's attacked us for such a bad decision on our part.

  It opened our eyes more fully to the lack of love among the JW's and what they do to families. We only really questioned the beliefs about 5 weeks ago when coming to this site. And man, are they wrong on so many of their teachings.

  I don't gamble at all. And not for any moral reason.

  I'm no good at it and would just lose.

  We won a cruise trip in a contest. Among other things, it included $500 in gambling money. Knowing it would be only about 3 hrs of fun we tried to cash it in. Only for ship credits we were told.

  So, can you spend $500 at the Martini Bar in 7 days? Yes, you can!

  I think all have doubts, many of those could be labeled as serious. The apostate thoughts are there with almost all the JW's.

  There is a line you have to cross to be an 'apostate'

  You have to verbalize it and not back down when admonished, and do this in front of two witnesses willing to testify against you.

  It doesn't even have to be a scriptual disagreement. (see Birthdays) Most JW's view this as a test of their loyalty to the org. or really to the GB.

  How serious is serious?

  A Bethel Elder told me in discussion, much in Genesis is not to be trusted and sited several examples. He viewed it as just being reasonable in the thought process. He wasn't concerned enough to make it an issue publicly. He wasn't upset with the WTS, he could easily rationalize his thoughts with the WTS.

  Later, he moved to the WT writing staff.

  Next week there will probably be some kind of loyalty test to the WT writers on Genesis? lol (this happened in the '80's)

  Who really are the human rights violators? Why does Russia see the need to try and protect its citizens?

  Harmful practices?

  They Isolate JW's away from families as they are viewed as bad or dangerous association

  Extreme shunning practices for even minor offenses. Used as a weapon to inflict hurt on its members

  Minor doubts of just thoughts are not permitted with threats of absolute shunning as punishment

  Victims of child molesters are threatened with extreme punishment if they seek help from government authorities

  Those who try and assist the victims are threatened with expulsion

  Members are threatened with expulsion if they seek life saving medical treatment of a blood transfusion

  Children are isolated and not permitted to develope normal friendships outside their organization

  Children are not permitted to participate in normal extracurricular activities at schools

  Members are not permitted to read outside sources of knowledge with threat of expulsion

  Under extreme views causing hatred of other religious groups?

  Other religions are ALL from Satan and are a lurking place of demons and its members are deserving of death, even little children

  Extreme views of standing governements?

  The existing goverment is under the control of Satan and is evil. ALL its citizens are deserving of dying a horrible death.

  Like you, I'm still waiting for verification. But will not be surprised when it comes.

  Little did JW's know when they contributed for the World Wide Work that they were giving for investments in Businesses, nor to pay off victims of molesters.
