Rehab has been very interesting, but ended nightmarishly....
by oompa inhi guys...oompa here.
was i in rehab for alcohol addiction or jwd addiction!?!?
!......no computers or cellphones allowed so i have been awol awhile..... ya, i finally made my self sick enough on booze to realize i was really sick and tired of being sick and tired....so checked myself into rehab without any planning at all and while wife was out of town on a family retreat...it was a a very desperate moment in my life, and i was extremely physically and emotionally sick....i was so desperate i took zero time to reseach where to go, but called an old school friend who said rehab had saved his life and he made the calls and actually took me and helped me check in to the place he went to 5 years ago.

...Good Food at Assemblys.....What Happened?..
by OUTLAW inin a time before many of you were born... assemblys had a great food... i left before the food started getting bad... .
i am totally amazed at reading... how food at assemblys got worse and worse... until finally food was`nt served at all... .
back in the day... food at assemblys was pretty dam good... there was quality cooking back then... jehovah`s witness`s actually looked forward to meals at assemblys... .

Way back in the early '70's the food was good. Is that what OUTLAW was talking about?
Great snacks.
Cantelope cut in half, with a scoop of ice cream. yummy!
Meal times then were portrayed as if, it was like the new order just getting started.
JW's right after Armegeddon, with big food kitchens serving 1000,s (Dodger Stadium) I worked pre-during-and post kitchen. Remember during the prayers, the quiet, except for the steam kettles hissing. cool
Then it was cheap and NOT to make money.
Then it evolved for effiency sake.
Then it became a money maker.
Then they got greedy and the food got worse.
Then they went to a donation basis.
Then the JW's paid what they thought it was worth and quit paying. (see OUTLAWS pile pix)
Then they went out of business and stopped doing it.

Am i correct?
by angel eyes inthis is just an obsevation from me...ok i dont mean to annoy anyone but is it true or just me?.
i feel that ones raised in the truth are so much better of than us who came in from the world.
i say that because they have family who are witnesses too.

You know, my JW bestfriend was raised in the 'truth' from a beautiful JW family of 7 children. I was always very envious of his siutation, since my family life was so bad.
His parents were the nicest people you could ever know. And yet, my friend said he was envious of my 'truth' appreciation. His opinion, better to be raised outside.
All seven children, when they became a responsible age left the 'truth'. Like most JW children, when they become older they leave. I guess being raised in the 'truth', a life-time of Bible study, meetings, field service, district conventions, doesn't work for them.
My guess would have been, they should be the strongest and best, the JW's can offer. But my guess would be wrong.

Saturday Mornings
by zarco inthen: get up grumpy, shower, go to starbucks, leave magazine to start time, drive to kingdom hall, hope to be able to work with friends in service so we can do just a few doors and then calls and an early lunch.. .
now: get up when i wake up, make coffee, read the boards, read the wsj and sf chronicle, wait for wife to wake up, take dog on a walk and decide what fun things to do in the bay area this weekend.. i love my weekends now!.
zarco.

I remember a JW saying the hardest door in the AM for the JW's was the bedroom door.
Zarco, your SF Saturday AM experience definately deserves a 'get thee behind thee Satan' admonishment from the JW's. It will make ALL JW's jealous and probably lead to many not going out in service if they read it. National hr avg. would drop as well.

This JWscholar is the typical JW apologist. No substance, full of air. Are they all like this guy?
They just keep saying the mantra to themselves, over and over again, "we have the truth because I said so" and everything will be alright. It seems they have to do this to re-affirm the 'truth' to themselves. Such a lack of faith in their own beliefs.
And to think, supposed apostates here know more about JW beliefs than the avg. JW.

What Things Were YOU Counseled For?
by minimus inelders love to counsel people.
it feeds their ego.
over the years, you must've been counseled on different things.. when i was almost of age to become a ms, an elder counseled me for my "lack of seriousness".

We played Led Zepp over the PA at out KH. It was awsome!
Two of us yg bros showed up to clean the KH, nobody else came. The Elders had told us once before, non KH music was ok if no one objected. (knowing someone always would)
So we popped in the cassette and kicked up the volume to stairway to heaven.
During the music a MS came in from another congregation and 'counseled' us for the music. He liked it, but it was more like, 'if you get caught' type statement.
"There's a lady who's sure, all that glitters is gold and she buying her stairway to heaven"

Cola at the District Convention
by lepermessiah inremember some of the garbage served at the district conventions?.
i was at the dollar store today and noticed they started carrying "shasta" cola.. i started laughing because they used to serve that skunk water at the district conventions when i was a kid.. they always brought in the cheapest, nastiest soda they could buy.. one year we had something called vess cola - that was actually worse than the shasta!
then, they ran out on sunday and had to buy pepsi from the local distributor - we were all rejoicing!!.

As a JW Were You or Someone you Knew Falsely Accused by Elders ?
by flipper inthought i'd put this out there to see if you knew of people in the jehovah's witnesses who were falsely accused or mistreated by the " police " or elders in the congregation.
many times it's been by experiencing injustices that get us to get shaken out of our cult thinking mode and reality kicks in and the scales fall from our eyes that the wt society is just a man made organization whose leaders are no better than us - actually in many cases more unscrupulous and conniving than any of us would have ever been to each other !
i was falsely accused 2 times .

It was the same with me. I wrongly thought at the time, they were just imperfect men. But the problem is systemic.
Same story everywhere, perhaps different details, but the same tragic goings on. Elders incharge, forgetting on a daily basis, who the little sheep in the congregation are.
