  What's your plans on the JW Memorial night?

  for the last 13 years, we haven't attended and didn't even care about it.

  but since we became card carrying members of jwn in september, we have an interest in what are friends here on jwn are doing.. for us?

  we will be watching 'dancing with the stars'.

  JW sister told my newly widowed mom that it would "look bad"if

  if i took her to the memorial this year.im df'd for years,but out of love and respect for my parents i always gave them this one night.my mum dosent drive.i was going to drive her and sit by her.i promised my dad that i would always do this for him.he was pretty cool,even tho he was an elder.my "devout" sister {who has never lifted a finger to help my parents}told her yesterday that it "wouldnt look good" for me to show up w/my mum,altho everyone knows that i have done everything for my parents,both before my dad died in december and since.

  is my sister just jealous that i have a fabulous life,am beautiful,rich,a guitar god,have excellent cool hair, xray vision,can communicate with aliens and have supernatural abilities?

  or is she just mean?lol..btw,i am going.and im taking my mum and we are going to sit in the front row,and yes,im gonna wear velvet.....

  You are doing the right thing with the right motive, honoring your father and mother, and showing a deep respect, coupled with love. And yes, this is putting your SR JW sister to shame.

  Your sisters actions are not unique, but common to the JW's. My wifes sister did the same thing to her as she took care of her dying mom. Making excuses as to why she wasn't there for her mom, then judging and complaining about any activity my wife did.

  How does the WTS make it's money?

  i'm learning a lot of nifty things about the wbts.

  but the one thing i haven't nailed down is how does it make it's money.

  i understand that they rely heavily on volunteer labor, but do they still sell publications?

  You will find a wealth of great info.on any subject you like. Be prepared to have your eyes opened wide as you seek the truth about the WTS.

  On money: A complete financial statement from the British Branch the WTS filed with the gov. Very interesting. Detailing how they make millions on literature sales, corporate investments, donations, real estate investments. Also documenting how they spend it, including side payments to individuals. And how little they donate to needy causes.

  I heard its JG using his HS to anoint appoint them. The system is infallible.

  The GB put all the names of the current reccomended ones in a hat, then throw them into the air. The ones that JG chooses for appointment fall to the ground, while the ones he disapproves, he snatches in mid-air and reads out loud to the GB not to appoint.

  To date. This system has never made a mistake just like the GB has never made a mistake when it comes to Bible interpretation.

  Some years ago, we sold our KH to a Pentecostal Church and made enough money to build 2 1/2 new KH's in the area with better locations. I mentioned we should make this a practice and with the RBC's backing could replace every KH with new ones in the country AND have all of them paid off in a few short years.

  I was told bluntly, the WTS is not interested in the Real Estate business. Times have changed, no?

  last year i gave the memorial talk, this year for the first time in my entire life i won't even be going.. i guess that missing the memorial will definitely put us on the elder's radar, so i am expecting the elders to be concerned an interrogation.

  .

  i was going to use the excuse that i will be in a different part of country, but i won't be and i will be at work with at least 3 other jw's in a neighbouring congregation.. .

  My Bro-in-law has progressed in reverse. He was just re-appointed an Elder after 10-12 years from not serving. And his first assignment? He's giving the talk.

  His sadly crazy wife will need someone next to her, preventing her from drinking all the wine in the cup.

  His three grown up children and families will not be attending due to the fact ALL are apostates.

  He's the one, I've mentioned here before, that told two of his sons to use protection when they fool around and not too let the elders find out they are fornicating.

  And of course, he was appointed by the see all, know all, HS.
