this happened many years ago in my old congregation.. the man, who held the position of a ministerial servant for many years had not long lost his wife in death.. obviously, tensions and the general heartbreak of what happened to him lasted for sometime.
i remember going to see him once and he was extremely depressed.. however, his son had recently moved back in with him and they had started arguing.
his son grassed on him in to the elders that his father had sworn at him in a number of arguments and he was removed as a ms. the rest is history.
Because they don't announce the reason why someone is DF'd, many stories will get circulated. But no one can say publicly for sure what the reason is.
We had a 23 year long Elder removed and his wife DF'd in 1995. Man was there speculation as to why and what happened. She had committed adultery, was apostate, etc...
The real reason that no one knew of? She had never given up smoking from the 1970's. She had hid it successfully for all those years. Her husband knew of problem and hid it.
when they announced disfellowshipping of certain individuals in your congregation?
were you shocked?
tell me about it.

My wife always knew before me, before I was appointed an Elder. lol
the gb is closing down and selling all central american branches.
the congregations are to be serviced out of the mexican branch.. they end the letter by saying that aren't the congregations in the.
central american territory to be expecting great rejoicing since they'll.

I'm glad you mentioned that. For years the WTS has been preaching the above statement about religions, but now its coming back to them in a large way

I've been doing similar research.
My take is the Apple is far superior than the Kindle, but is it worth the extra $200 for better functionality?
Also, I travel alot, and take paper backs with me. Leaving one on your chair, while you swim, I don't worry about someone taking it (has happened only once, and was out $10) But with a Kindle? Yes, I would worry that it could disappear.
Plus, you can loan a book to a friend (which publishers hate) but you can't loan a book stored in a Kindle (which publishers love)
My conclusion: These things should be free or heavily subsidized, and probably will in time, like any other sub-pay products.

The last paragraph makes it clear what they are doing with the facilities.
The workers are to be reassigned to assist in the local work.
So the summation:
First, all oversight is to be moved to a different country. But not to worry. All functions can and will be managed in a good way.
Second, the workers from these 6 facilities will be transferred to the local field.
So what's left, empty shells of buildings, that's all. Why would they keep them and what purpose would they serve?
Its not stated, but its very obvious to see. They plan on selling the buildings like thay have done in EVERY other country in the world. (see Spain, the USA, etc...)
Leaving them empty would go against the stated purpose of the WTS in using its assets in a proper way. That would be a very poor business decision.

I have to think the WTS might be hurting more than we might think. Are they on the run? Not sure, but the flight and financial crisis is definately growing.
DC's at Assembly Halls? Is it a quick desperate decision to raise more cash?
Are we heading into a post 1920's like exodus? This is gaining steam for sure.

I had many friends who volunteered and went down there to build those branches. And now the WTs is reaping the profits of there labor.

Thanks Cattails for sharing that....again downsizing because they are upsizing in growth. Yeah right!
A wave of lawsuits directed at apostates, no so much for the money, but to make people think long and hard about attacking them
