basically i think they see anyone who does not live up to their standards as a threat in which they risk exposure to fealings they would rather die than face.

"Elders are janitors with a golden broom" This joke is the closest I will have to sympathy with an elder.This joke presents them as men beset by circumstances.It helps restore their equilibrium by presenting them as almost humun.

most christians assume that the gift of salvation is free.. but gods promises are very conditional and the word "if" is used nearly 1600times in the bible.. the bible is an "iffy" book and the promises of god very conditional.. i would be interested in a christian perspective as to why they think salvation is a free gift-.

This larger than life male is the congregation Elder.

I oftern wonderd how a Jew who had lost his mum dad wife and kids to the Holocaust could be expected to convert to Christianality.Lets not forget many purportraters of Holocaust attended Christian churches-

If the governing body cared about others as much as they do about themselfs this board might not exist. I think this board is made up of victims.
If a person is a true victim of a repressive organisation with a humane heart they can rouse themselfs sufficiently to reclaim their integrity .
Simply put elders see and when they see injustice and lies they stand for truth and justice and COMPASSION.

Yes Elders are generally sincere belivers and this means believing "The real world is an ilusion" they sadly see the despair of the age .The pain of living in a world without value. A world of lawlessness where worldly people are evil soon to perish at the hands of their loving God"
Iam sorry but I have no sympathies. Being an elder transcends self OR family preservation and if a person continues as an elder he will abandon his good nature.
