Do "Thousands of JWs die each year" because they refuse blood? I say YES!

however you think on the subject, just wait until you read the conclusion of my blog article.

oh, by the way, all points of view are important to me and most welcome so i look forward to reading them here on jwn .

I would like to comment on this since this is very dear to my heart. As my wife is about to be dunked and committed to slave for the organization, I will always be concerned about the possibility that I myself or worse, my daughter, will be in a situation where blood is needed to save life. I spoke with my wife's book study elder and he told me that there were laws protecting the minors. (WHEW) But I guess I still need to be on guard in case my wife and some of new JW friends decides to circumvent the laws or 'conveniently' forgets to tell the doctors about them.

I hope they come out with some 'new light' on this, anything is welcomed.

initially i suppose i did.

i know i over studied the articles for the wt study because i thought my enthusiasm as a study would make me more accepted.

but after awhile i didnt read the awakes at all except for a cursory glance because i was giving them to people.

I use to read the Watchtowers and Awakes a lot when my wife and I first moved in together. I guess I was doing it because I was really interested more in what the world's religions were teaching than for any 'spiritual benefit.' My wife use to comment that I was reading the material more than she was and I would say something along the lines of, "Yeah, I read something interesting in such and such WT or Awake article."

I don't really read them now but when I look at them laying around, I think back to how I did not use to have such a dim view of the organization and actually find myself feeling sorry for how the events turned over the summer from my generally agreeing with them to my feeling like they are a threat. I am attempting to take a more balanced view of her religion and of religion in general, basically like I did back when she and I met.

Birthdays Okay -- if done by Fractions

i have 2 sons who live close to each other.

thankfully, they are emotionally close despite the fact that the oldest never was baptized and therefore not bound by wt standards.. the youngest, the jw, had a birthday on the 1st of the month.

i wished him a happy one -- but, of course, only in my mind knowing that he would dismiss such a wish if he even talked with me on the phone.

Believe you me, I will be looking for them when approaching these things with my soon to be baptized wife. And she says that I need to get out of her kool-aid. How am I suppose to learn about all the wonderful loop holes?

I think the first video is accurate. I use to believe that Russell was a freemason but I later learned that he was not. I think the pyramid was placed near his tombstone sometime after he was buried. CTR was definitely into pyramidology and astrology. The Proclaimers book touches on pyramidology a little bit and speaks about how Rutherford threw it out calling it Satanic.

If you want to verify that the pyramid exists, go to Google maps and type in 226 cemetery lane, pittsburg, pa (yes I've committed this address to memory). You should see a little man in the zoom bar. Click and drag him to the first entrance of the cemetery (past the top intersection of cemetery lane and N South Drive). This entrance is the nameless road intersecting with cemetery lane, the first insection just below the intersection with Tonidale Barber Shop marker at the top of the cemetery. The intersection should be reported as 164 cemetery lane when you drop the little man on the road. Rotate the view to have the little man facing into the cemetery, look carefully and you will see the pyramid. Zoom in for a closer look.

this couple in our hall an elder and his wife gave us a anniversary gift.

it is a wall hanging that says "as for me and my household sister life is to short and hubby will worship jehovah forever.".

i felt i should send her a thank you card even though i hate the gift.

So why do I feel so horrible sending her that letter?

All I can say to this part is that in some way I can relate. In spite of my feelings to the organization, there are times when I feel bad for even bringing up issues with their doctrines with my wife. A part of me really wants her to have this religion since it makes her so happy and there are times when I wish I could just do it with her. But, sometimes you got to stand up for right. It hurts me because I know it is hurting her.

Not sure if this is similar to how you feel about sending that letter.

JW concerned about my tattoo.

my jw friend (that i still talk to) saw on my facebook that i got a tattoo.

emailed me very concerned about my spiritual health and offered to come to my town to take me in service and to the meetings 'cause "we're getting close to the end of all of this, earthquakes in one place after another.

" she is so indoctrinated.

I agree with this 200% and I have made no qualms about being on this site, subscribing to 'apostate' you tube channels, and making some 'apostate' you tube videos my favorites.

i'm reading god is not great, by christopher hitchens, and somewhere i found an idea that, on the looks of it, should be easy to discuss with a jehovah's witness.

the idea being that men are fallible, and men with absolute power will inevitably make use of that absolute power for the absolute worst.

history has shown this time after time.

Yeah, so true and too bad a Jehovah's Witness cultist cannot see this. Yeah, they can see it manifest itself in other organizations but not in Jehovah's vaunted society.

Yeah, I suppose it could stand a bit of updating. Leonard Chretien, however, did put a lot of effort into this film according to his interview with Randy Watters. I would like to see an update with people like Barbara Anderson and the individual who founded silent lambs adding their take to it. Of course, we would still want to get Raymond Franz and Paul Blizzard in there as well.

All of this is so crazy. If I did not experience it for myself I would not believe it. If I were reading this thread I would think that LITS was adding to the picture. Sometimes I think I am. It so totally insane.

Yep, that is right in line with how my wife reacted to me telling her Jamie Bowers' story she published on freeminds.org. It's a shame that my wife can truly think this way and it makes me wonder how my wife would react if she heard that something crazy like that was going on at the church I am currently attending. I would bet money that my wife would be trying very hard to get my daughter away from my church if that were the case but since it is the vaunted Jehovah's Witnesses, the happiest and most righteous people on God's green earth (at least in her mind), these stories are one sided and there is something more to it that it not being said.

Good for you to take a stand like this on this important issue. I truly wish the WTS can be exposed to this to the extent that the Catholic church was exposed.
