How to secretly record an elders meeting?
by EndofMysteries inone in which you are present, as if only one party is aware or doing it, it's legal.
is there a fairly inexpensive device can buy which either in a pocket or somewhere discreet can get a good recording of up to 2 - 3 hours?
(audio).

Dictation machines (aprox the size of a cell phone) but get a good one...the cheap ones produce static. I used them to record stuff while serving temp at Bethel. I recorded Jack Barr giving the memorial - I recorded morning worship - etc

Hermit crabs and creation
by gringojj inhi guys its been a long time since i have posted.. anyway i was on vacation this past week at the beach and came across a hermit crab that had lost its shell.
i started thinking about the creation and intelligent design theory and though what a horrible design if it was created.
the hermit crab cannot survive without findind the shell of a dead snail to protect it.

The Hermit crab problem was actually the first....... 'organizational new lite from God'. Adam saw it's nakedness and went to find clothes too.

As a Man have your Attitudes Towards Women Changed since Exiting JW's ?
by flipper inbeing raised in the jehovah's witness cult - i saw so many times what would be referred to as " supportive wives " wait after meetings for an hour, two hours, even more until midnight for husbands who met in backrooms meeting to decide on judicial matters if some individual witness was righteous - or not.
wives of elders were expected to do this to show submission and alleged " respect " for the headship arrangement or eldership of their husbands !
incredible.

Hey Flipper - sending a PM so I can meet you...I'm near Santa barbara...and will drive to you sometime
Women and Elder's wives....I think most of us men are works in progress in this matter. But, I sincerely believe that I have improved greatly. I think all of society has had to learn to change, but it's was especially bad for JW wives. What do you expect from a group who wants to still be "under law" just like being Jews. T be honest, JW life for a female seems close to the bible description of Isrealite wives. In the 70's as a kid in the congregation, "women's liberation" was a bad word and linked up with the whole hippie movement. No doubt about it, the finest individuals I've known in the Borg were female.

Help with Doubting BIL
by Simon Morley ini have a bil that has started to doubt.
he is hung up on the fact that he sees jw's as the only one fullfilling the preaching of the good news.
i am sure there are some excellent past posts on this topic and would be happy to get them.

Ask if he thinks the content of the modern JW message matches the first century. In the first century, the message was about Christ and release from sin.
Also, did the congregation at Ephesus run exactly like the one in Corinth or Jerusalem? Today, JW's talk about dates and uniformity to the latest GB doctrinal dart game.
In Ray Franz books, he addresses the fact that many have preached about Christ and spread Bibles for centuries before JW's ever did. It's in these lands where JW's have come along afterward and done well converting people. Others 'softened the soil' beforehand.
