White Dove...
I sent a PM....maybe can help
he's a guy and upon request, he gave me his e-mail address so he could give me a yes or a no to my invitation to join us tonight for dinner.. after i asked him if he'd like to join us, he snickered and said i don't know.
give me a couple of hours to think about it.
i asked him four hours later if he had decided, yet, but he hadn't even thought about it yet.. i said that it's not a test question, no right or wrong answer.. he asked where and i said it's a nice place uptown.. he said that he needed to think about it because of the dress up thing.. i said he didn't need to dress up, that just slacks and a nice shirt would do.. that was two days ago, and i haven't heard back from him, yet, although i did e-mail him so he could let me know.. i'm the wheels for the evening, so i needed to know so i could pick him up, or not.. does no answer (seems like avoidance) mean no, or is there some other excuse that might (wanna say rescue his ass but won't say it) be plausible?.

this is something i haven't discussed on jwn but yesterday the words finally came out.
this is about my being disfellowshipped , what led up to it, how i felt during it and what happened after.
it has been over 25 years since i was disfellowshipped so this piece of the story has taken a long time to write.
Lee.....I'm so sorry
How many times have I sat on a JC and been"helping a couple". I never had a clue what the wives really felt.....why they seemed so trodden down. I'm so sorry I ever participated.....
I'm just so grateful that you have recovered and can be such a giving and forgiving person....please understand that many of us elders (especially if "raised in the truth") were just mindless and controlled too....not that I'm excusing myself.....
I feel very guilty and have contributed to losing my dear wife and marriage too....we are still friends....she's out of the borg too...we both faded. I see more than ever what this religion has done to the women.....I'm so sorry.
Thanks for helping so many

4 of 'shepherding the flock of god' by the wts is part of their worldwide non profit bible educational work which is supported by voluntary donation but not required in order for a publication to be placed with 'rightly disposed' persons.. chapter 4 addresses "assisting those who are weak" and is required reading prior to the ks.. it is the hope of this thread to assist those preparing for ks as well and assisting the wts in educating those about the responsibilities and directions elders must adhere.. here are the previous discussion threads:.

well, folks, this little mermaid just got back from the sad she had to attend w/her husband so as to keep a measure of peace (we're in the process of working out compromises...you know how it goes) i was pretty mad by the end of the day (thank god it ended at 4:00) mostly because i learned some new things that i would never have guessed in a million years.. did you know that satan is setting up artificial "refuges" as a counterfeit to jehovah's "true refuge"which is...his organization???
now satan's "false refuges" are pretty damn bad, like, for instance, "independent thinking.
" no, siree bob, we don't want none of that!!
I knew exactly what you meant and am in total agreement. My comments were just an addition. They frustrate me to no end...and I am proud to say that I personally never put that crap on a platform in all my years on the platform

In my opinion....what gets a job is a good work ethic. Of course, some jobs require degrees period.
It is not the degree that fails graduates.....it is assuming that the degree alone gets them a job.
Wrong....first and foremost is proving yourself an indespensible employee
If a person with great work habits also has a degree....so much the better.
Having owned and run a company with well over 100 employees....that's my input
By the way...I have no degree thanks to Me, Knorr, and F.Franz.....wish I had one
lets play a guessing game to help us remain patient while the "shepherding' book is being scanned by more elders than i am gonna admit cuz i don't wanna embarrass the service department!.
so we know it is a softcover..... (if you are an elder and have yours-- mums the word-- please pass on playing and just enjoy the board speculation).
speculation:.

should be transparent.......since it is to any thinking person
or maybe black......for obvious reasons
"glow in the dark".
that is the term our family used for the super righteous jw's.
as in, "that guy glows in the dark".

i asked 2 elders on seperate occasions (because i'm careful) - the following scenario:.
a man comes to the elders and asks if he can take blood fractions for clotting since he is a bleeder.
the elders tell him it's up to his conscience.
I asked 2 elders on seperate occasions (because I'm careful) - the following scenario:
A man comes to the Elders and asks if he can take blood fractions for clotting since he is a bleeder. The elders tell him it's up to his conscience. The man says he feels bad because through his lifetime, many pints of blood from the blood bank will be harvested for his clotting fractions. The elders tell him it's up to him.
Next day the man's wife excitedly comes to the elders and thanks them for what they said to her husband. She also is relieved because she has an upcoming surgery and now feels according to her conscience that she could store some of her blood for use during surgery. That is surely less of a compromise than her husband taking fractions from the blood bank, she reasons. But the elders say NO...we will have a JC and assume that you have DA'd yourself.
I now asked the elders if they would feel comfortable sitting on that JC. One honestly said that he would avoid it. The other said he couldn't answer and would think about it. I told both of them that this was an example of why I could not be an elder.
i'm from that area and my grandfather was a very prestigious elder.
tell me your name and congregations and stories.
( i love everyones stories .
Hi there...well..I'm from Santa Barbara area.....that's fairly close
names of course have been changed.. ann was 17 and was a baptized jw.
her homelife with witness parents was not the best.
her mom, who was raised in the truth had a learning disorder and did her best as a mom, but fell short in many ways.
Names of course have been changed.
Ann was 17 and was a baptized JW. Her homelife with witness parents was not the best. Her mom, who was raised in the truth had a learning disorder and did her best as a mom, but fell short in many ways. Ann's dad was also raised in the truth by a stepdad (who was PO for awhile) who was DF'd for molesting his step-daughters. Ann found a 19 year old JW boyfriend (Bill) and she became pregnant. Both were disfellowshipped and the new baby boy (Mark) was born. She is shunned by her whole family during the most difficult time of her life. In time they are re-instated and married. Happy family did well.
Fast-forward 7 years....The family has moved 150 miles away to a new congregation. Ann so wants her nice family to be respected at the Kingdom Hall since she had never had that growing up. Bill is recommended as a Ministerial Servant and really wants to be one to finally feel some self-worth among 'God's people'. After getting the approval letter for the appointment back from the society, the elders remember that he had slept with an under-aged girl and that the boy (Mark) had been illegitimate. The elders in this new congregation begin digging, interviewing elders in the former congregation, as well as Ann's dad and mom.
One night before meeting, two elders have Bill in the back room verifying that he could and would serve as a MS, this is the last step before reading the appointment (he's in and very happy). AT THE SAME TIME , other elders were inteviewing Ann's mom in the other back room about the situation 7 years previous involving her daughter Ann and Bill. The elders interviewing Ann's mom hadn't noticed that kids had been playing hide and seek in the room and were still hiding in a closet. One of those kids was little Mark, and he heard the elders question his grandmother all about what his mom and dad had done, and now understands that he was illegitimate. Bill was not appointed and Ann and Bill are disappointed at Ann's mom for speaking candidly.
Even when elders try to deal with child-molestation they are idiots. They aren't qualified. Yet these very men determne the qualifications of others? Another fine example of 'spirit-directed' proceedure.
