I actually enjoy mike and Kim's videos. Was watching them this morning and liked the way they led into their subject. I watch various people on you tube discussing their perspectives on Watchtower. All informative....some good...some not so good. Variety is the spice of life! -

Witnesses killed my friend today.
by WasOnceBlind intoday has been a horrible day.
what began as a day of joy finding out that one of my lifelong friends had her baby, turned into a nightmare when her brother called me to let me know she had passed away after birth.
i was in shock and didn't ask how.

wasonceblind. I am sorry to hear of this tragic loss. It is unbelievable that this is still happening in 2016. Another needless death caused by a publishing companies policy ....so very sad! -

What shocking stories did you ever hear about?
by Truthexplorer inas a pre-awakened ms, i heard of 2 stories that i found very shocking at the time.
please keep in mind, i was following wt blindly at the time and was part of what i thought was the true religion.
the first shocking story was when i attended a large meeting for elders and ministerial servants covering our circuit.

As a pre-awakened MS, I heard of 2 stories that I found very shocking at the time. Please keep in mind, I was following WT blindly at the time and was part of what I thought was the true religion. The first shocking story was when I attended a large meeting for elders and ministerial servants covering our circuit. It was about 20 years ago, and can remember a brother from bethel in UK giving a talk about conduct. He then related how a group of white brothers and a group of black brothers had a stand off at a holiday resort (I think it was centre parks). I am unsure if there had been physical aggression, but there was most definitely intense verbal aggression between the 2 groups. I was completely gobsmacked by what I heard. In fact it really shocked me to the core. The second was again about 20 years ago, when our flamboyant Circuit overseer related to us at the elders and MS meeting that TWO halls in the borders region of Scotland had completely apostisized. basically broke off with Watchtower and conducted there own meetings independently! Did you ever here of stories that shocked you before you were awakened? -

Brooklyn news on sending the elderly packing
by I am a Bible Student injohnny the bethelite on this program talks about the older bethelites being targeted by watchtower.they are getting rid of those at bethel who are 65-87 years old, some being anointed even the widows of former governing body members who gave decades of loyal service time to the watchtower organization.. the reasons the very elderly are being expelled are money in that for their age range they cost so much to cloth, fed, and medicate, having problems from high blood pressure to dementia.
they include persons such as sister henschel whose husband had been a watchtower president and marian sydlik whose parents are long dead.. https://soundcloud.com/rick-fearon/jan-16-2016-johnny-the-bethelite-watchtower-insider-host-his-radio-program-from-brooklyn-ny .

GB Members: What's the Story?
by Cold Steel inover the past few decades i've met many individual jws, but i've always been curious about the gb members themselves and about service at bethel.
first, do gb members fraternize with regular rank and file members or do they only sell out each other?
when i was a methodist, it didn't take me long to figure out that our minister and his wife were frequently invited to dinner, but i never heard of him actually inviting members to his house for dinner.

Cold steel - In answer to the question are they humble or intimidating? the culture of the organisation in its treatment of its members is evidently the same as it was when Ray Franz was disfellowshipped for eating a meal with a disassociated person. From what I recall in one of the editions of CoC, 2 elders travelled from somewhere in Europe to America to speak to the GB having read about ex GB members Ray Franz's story in Time magazine. The 2 elders simply wanted to get to the bottom of what was going on as they were stunned to hear such a thing happening to a GB member, one of the anointed. They also needed proof that the Time magazine article surely must have been sensationalist or simply wrong in what was written. The GB welcomed them in true Watchtower style! The 2 elders were treated in an unloving cold abrupt manner when they phoned Bethel and spoke to one particular GB member. Instead of acting in a Christ like manner and inviting the 2 elders up to Bethel to clear up their concerns, they were stonewalled by the GB and 'told' to put their questions/concerns in writing. This despite their pleas to meet with the GB. Wow to those who raise legitimate concerns with Gods chosen channel! Book of GB 5:16 -

"Crises of Conscience"
by Olivia Wilde ini just finished reading chapters 11-12 of raymond franz, crises of conscience & i must admit, i am pretty strong person, however the way ed dunlap & ray franz were treated left me crying, i had tears rolling done my eyes driving home from work on friday... & how ed was kicked out by wt, left me feel soo disgusted & outraged.... it was very obvious he needed to stay at bethel because of his age & medical conditions but i admired he didn't compromise his conscious, it's sickening to me how cold & callous these men can treat a christian after all his service.... & of course ray franz situation was no exception either, the witch hunt they did to get him out was, well, there's just isnt enough adjectives to describe their disgusting motives against him... he was 59 yrs old trying to make a honest living with his wife & for them to go after him was devious & demon like.... i'm soo grateful i came across this book & i wished i had much much sooner.... i know god will reward both ed dunlap & franz plus many many more who have been unjustly & unchristian like treated during that time & this time, sooo sickening.....i still feel very much upset & emotional over the whole thing .... i never met any of them & then yet i feel deep christian love for them......

I read his book twice and shocked at what I was reading. The book explains why the culture of the organisation is so black and white in their dealings with people. Ray France described the Governing Body as an iron fist in a velvet glove particularly when it comes to enforcing their own rigid rules. Such a culture permeates through all the Congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses. That explains why so many individuals have been treated so harshly, particularly when a matter has been trivial! . I genuinly feel sorry for elders who sincerely want to shepherd the Congregation as sincere Christians, but MUST adhere to everything that emanates from the GB, instead of basing decisions SOLELY on Gods word. -

Are G.B. Members Too Scared to Visit the U.K. ?
by The Searcher in... in case the u.k. charities commission summons them - like the australian royal commission snared mr. jackson?
why else would they be sending two of their personal boot-lickers?.

I wonder what the charity commissions view is of Watchtowers safeguarding policy framework. Surely they must see it falls far short of what is acceptable for a charity working with vulnerable people! -
