IMO, the important questions are "Does he want to be out? Is he ready to get out?" If the answer is "no", then your efforts are likely to back-fire. Your best efforts to pull him out can do exactly the opposite, pushing him even further into their grasp. That is how the mind control tactics work, "persecution" is used to "prove" that the leaders really have "The Truth". If he thinks you are pushing him where he doesn't want to go, success is not likely.

Temporarily tired of JW boyfriend. Should I: a) leave
by SEL inor b) continue in my plan of eventually getting him out with steve hassan's help?.
option b is going to be expensive but not impossibly so.
but it would require more patience than i think i have.

Ex-inlaws are trying to JW indoctrinate my daughter....need some advice
by James_Slash incould do with some help please.. i found out last week that my daughter is being taught how to pray before meals "dear jehovah" and taken to meetings by her mothers family (that are jw's).. myself and her mother are divorced - we live over 100 miles apart.
neither of us are jws anymore (i haven't been for 5 years - not d/f or d/a) and i am contemplating my disassociation letter as we speak.
her family played a part in separating me from my daughter during our divorce in 2007 - they even wrote lies to support her.

especially after we had agreed that she wouldn't be
Is that in writing, as part of the divorce's separation agreement?
If you're serious about taking any kind of legal action, you know who you should talk to about that--a professional well versed in the law where you and your ex live.

I extended my perfect record: I never went when I was married to a Witness and I'm not about to start now! Instead, I stayed home, ate some pizza, and drank a beer.

Why was Rutherford sent to prison?
by Alfred inwell that was 93 years ago so well probably never know all the facts.
but the wt claims that russell and others were falsely accused of sedition.
the may 9, 1918 new york times article that covered these arrests and sedition charges states that they were charged with spreading doctrines calculated to promote unrest and disloyalty among the men of the army and navy.

Eventually, reason prevailed.
I understand it was not because of "reason" (if by that you mean a finding that Russell et al did nothing illegal). Rather, their appeal was based on errors during the proceedings, and a finding of mistrial--they could have been tried again on the same charges, but because the war was over the prosecution saw no point in spending the time and money to retry him and the other WT leaders (note this was in 1919 and 1920, the first year of Prohibition--and the enforcement problems that came with it). So charges were dropped and Russell was released, being neither convicted nor exonerated: in the eyes of the law, there had never been a proper trial to determine guilt or innocence.

Full Moon? Not By My Clock!!!
by prophecor in.
my atomic clock has a feature which gives moon phases.
it won't reach full moon status until tomorrow.

Jews agree with your clock, Passover begins tomorrow night. But the WT can't be bothered to get the day right, as Moshe points out in another thread.

i just came back from the memorial
by J. Hofer init wasn't all that bad.
met a few friends who also don't give too much about it and had some great laughs afterwards.
we talked about how we still remember when only about 7000 took from the emblems and now its more than 11000. we also laughed about how it would look like having jesus and his disciples pass around wine and bread on a plate like that.. all in all it was the same procedure as every year.

I didn't get any invite, but my neighbors got a door hanger yesterday.
Skeeter, I'm on that list too--the list of people they don't bothger to ask! I did tell my daughter that I knew it was tonight (in a round-about way), I told her she'd be home in time to be ready.
@Snowbird--I hope your daughter is scheduled for a few "comp days" later this week, when the tax season madness is over. Congress should declare the third week of April as the official "National Appreciate Your Accountant Week"!

Six Screens
by minimus inany opinion that you'd like to share regarding six screens?.
(i don't get the fascination, but rick has succeeded in making us know his site, hasn't he?
).

If Rick's behavior is due to trama from being in the organization, then he should put down his sword, stop swinging it at everything that moves
Well put, PC. Giving in to anger and allowing it to rule us solves nothing; that leads only to regret. Recall Matthew 26:51-52:
And suddenly, one of the followers of Jesus grasped his sword and drew it; he struck the high priest's servant and cut off his ear. Jesus then said, 'Put your sword back, for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.'
I understand being angry about the WT and what it does to people we love. But that same anger comes through so strongly on Six Screens that it obscures the valid things you are trying to say, so the message isn't heard by the very people who need it the most.
