Guys!! Guys!!! Two Jehovah's Witnesses were just at my door!!
by ziddina inand of course, i had some fun with them... an older, brunette woman who obviously dyes her hair and could stand to lose a bit of weight, and a slim blonde teenage girl - probably around 15 - 17.... i started out by asking them if they knew how old the bible was.... .
(and unfortunately, i think i demonstrated that i wouldn't make a very good "undercover" bible study prospect... .
but they didn't even know how old - young - the bible was!!.

Good job Zid! Maybe too good, I doubt that older one will ever come back, and the younger one is due for some extra shepherding if the older one reports she listens to such talk. There's probably a special note on the the territory card about you, something like
"Danger: the she-devil lives here!"
I wonder what would happen if they saw you wearing your red dragon outfit? That would scare most of them straight back to the car and off to the other end of the territory!

Mr. Snowbird and I Are Reconciling
by snowbird inwe've agreed to compromise on our differences and support each other through the years we have left.. i'm seeing a psychiatrist today to deal with my difficulties that stem from a traumatic and tumultuous childhood.. he is willing to yield in his beliefs that a man should control everything and make all the decisions.. being a stubborn jamaican, i realize how hard that is for him.. we're going to renovate the house so that he has his own quarters.. that way, my boisterous g'kids won't work his nerves too badly.. just wanted to put it out there.. syl.

I'm learning how to forgive and forget, which is a beautiful thing.
So it is, all the more so when forgetting isn't your strong suit. So do your best to forget things that shouldn't be remembered, and remember the things that shouldn't be forgotten. Good luck to you and your husband Sylvia, and much happiness to you!

ZidGrips and ZidChains....
by ziddina inhere's a little idea i've been batting around for a while, and i finally produced several pairs.... for those of you who followed the "mouthy" situation, when she fell down, perhaps you know that i sent a pair of "yaktraxtm" to her.
they're produced commercially, and are made to slip over one's shoes to provide a grip on icy streets and sidewalks.. they're fine for the occasional usage, but when hubby and i went hiking, i found that the rocks and high-mileage hikes [8-12 miles] were destroying the "yaktraxtm" - sometimes even before i finished a hike.. i was going through a pair every two months or less.... so i came up with my own version - something a bit more durable.... i call them, "zidgrips".
and on the suggestion of heaven, i came up with another type, called "zidchains".. so, here's the story in pix - including how to put on the zidgrips and zidchains - which i'm including for heaven's sake... .

Very nice, Zid! Do they fit ski boots? The most dangerous part of the day is that icy walk back to the parking lot.

Job suffering A ridiculous story.
by jam injob a man blameless and upright, one who feared god, and turn away from evil.
the fact that he is just and suffering breaks the logic relating god, evil, and the suffering of israel.
for ancient israel the logic of suffering then they must have sinned.

Reading the first dozen verses shows the book of Job is of the "parable" genre, not "historical". God and Satan engaging in a challenge, as if over drinks at the corner tavern? That tells the reader this story is to be read figuratively for its message, not literally as a record of real events.
To read it too literally is to ignore that the Bible is a collection of different works, recorded in different ages, by different authors, for different audiences and purposes. Each book should be read according to the context of its origin, intent and literary genre. To do otherwise not only leads to poor interpretations, but also is disrepectful to the very words believers claim to revere.

An uneven relationship is at work here: if you fire them, you'll be sued (and they'd be WT heroes at the next assembly). If they quit, you can't do a thing about it (and they'd be WT heroes at the next assembly). The only way they look bad to the WT is if they stick around to support their families (as they should), and you don't mistreat them because of their religion (as you should). The WT discourages good christian behavior!
The really crazy part is this: to anyone who's lived in the WT Society rabbit hole, this all seems normal!
