like most people reading this, i was convinced that by 2014 the new system would 'definitely' have been operating for at least a decade.
now that i know this is not going to be the case i am going to have to think of some way to recognise 100 years of wts let downs and failed predictions.
there is no point fretting over the past so i think it will be a good time to celebrate.

Excerpt from Associated Press article in the Miami Herald:
The large, white bus was too tall for the 8-foot-6-inch entrance to the arrivals area, said airport spokesman Greg Chin. Buses are supposed to go through the departures area, which has a higher ceiling, he said.
Chin said passengers told him they were part of a group of Jehovah's Witnesses headed to West Palm Beach. Police said in a news release that the group had chartered the bus to take them to a church convention there.
The group was made up of congregation members of Sweetwater's Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, said Sweetwater Mayor Manny Maroño.
"This is a tragic accident that has affected many families, as well as, our Sweetwater family," Maroño said in a press release. "I am pursuing all avenues to get in touch with the appropriate persons to officially extend our help to the congregation and those who were hurt."
A phone number listed for the center in Sweetwater went unanswered.
At the airport, two large signs warn drivers of large vehicles not to pass beneath the concrete overpass. One attached to the top of the concrete barrier reads: "High Vehicle STOP Turn Left." The other, placed to the left of the driveway and several feet in front of the barrier, says all vehicles higher than the 8-foot-6 threshold must turn left.
Three people were at hospitals in critical condition. The other 27 surviving passengers were hurt, but their injuries were less extensive, authorities said.
One man died at the scene; the second died later at a hospital.

Where do JWs get the blood products they are willing to accept into their body?
When you follow the supply line back to the source, they get their blood products from blood donors. I am one of them. Blood transfusions are as far from sin as far could be; it is virtue rather than vice.
The holidays are often a difficult time for blood banks: people are busy, so fewer take the time to donate. If you are healthy enough and eligible to donate, please make an appointment to give the gift of life!
i am just curious, and not judging.
if you are a christian and you know that december 25th is not jesus' birthday, and may have pagan roots, then why celebrate it?
i was raised a dub as most of you know, and have learned the ttatt so i know how wrong they are about a lot.
If you are a Christian and you KNOW that December 25th is not Jesus' birthday, and may have pagan roots, then why celebrate it?
Yes, I know that December 25th is not Christ's actual birthday (though researchers place his birth in autumn, which means the Annunciation would have been around that time). Besides, the dates differ slightly between Julian and Gregorian calendars. Pliny's writings place the solstice on December 25 of the Julian calendar.
Early Christians used that date so they would not be conspicuous by not celebrating. Being a conspicuous Christian during the Roman persecutions was hazardous, so it was best to be festive--while worshipping the Christian God instead of the pagan gods.
It is also symbolic of the coming of Christ, "the light of the world", to lead us out of darkness.
It also aligns, more or less, with 25 Kislev: Hannukah, the Festival of Lights. This day marks the re-dedication of the temple following the victories of Judah Maccabbee. To Christians Christ is the temple of the New Covenant, another reason for celebrating Jesus' coming during the darkest days of the year.
But mostly, as others have said, when He came is less important than the fact that He did come. That is why we celebrate; the date makes no difference.
It's working OK for me, but it's later now and traffic is lighter.

Does it matter, as long as I get my house repaired and it doesn't cost me a cent.
Some of the houses he worked on, the owners had no insurance and were very low income. I don't know who paid for those materials.
... it was a provledge that they donate the insurance money "to help rebuild others homes".
Putting the pieces together, from the insurance companies' point of view (including the National Flood Insurance Program, i.e. taxpayers) they are paying to restore property that was not covered by an insurance policy, for which premiums have not been paid. I'll leave it to the lawyers to opine whether or not this is legal, but it certainly is unethical!
i borrowed a jerry garcia doll from my mom, and i'm making him a sparlock outfit.
i'm going to strap him to the top of the big tree and put it in front of the living room window.
i will post pictures when i get him finished..
Incidentally, Garcia was in a band called the Warlocks before the GD.
It was the same band; somebody else was using the name "Warlocks" so they chose another.
The origin of the name "Grateful Dead" would give a Witness fits almost as much as "Warlocks" (an immortal soul, etc.). From Wiki:
Grateful dead (or grateful ghost) is a folktale present in many cultures throughout the world. The most common story involves a traveler who encounters a corpse of someone who never received a proper burial, typically stemming from an unpaid debt. The traveler then either pays off the dead person's debt or pays for burial. The traveler is later rewarded or has their life saved by a person or animal who is actually the soul of the dead person...
can someone please tell me in the simplest ways?
thanks.

The Watchtower uses vaguely-Bible-based dating, starting at the fall of Jerusalem, to show that Jesus returned (invisibly) in 1914 to inspect their organization and then approve it as the only True Religion in 1919. But that works only if Jerusalem fell in 607 BC (as the Watchtower claims), not 587 BC (as accepted by historians).
