can you clarify something for me please?

the jw's teach that most (to them, that means all) religions teach the trinity as being that god almighty, jesus, and the holy spirit are literally one, meaning the exact same 'person', none higher than the other, inseparable, the exact same thing.

they mainly use catholics and baptists, in my experience.

Same deal in a marriage, two people and God intertwined and pulling in the same direction, that is how it should be :) Chalam, I said exactly that. The response was, "but that is individuals saying that. That is not what churches of Christendom teach. "

I do not plan on getting into the details. It would take me forever to research the pro's and the con's. I do not plan on getting into an extremely lengthy discussion with them about it. I just want to be able to show that their portrayal of what "christendom's relgions" teach is not accurate. I feel like it's what I've learned, but I don't have any backup evidence. Hence, the starting of a redundant thread to sqeaze information out or YOUR brains.

Can you clarify something for me please? The JW's teach that MOST (to them, that means ALL) religions teach the trinity as being that GOD Almighty, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are Literally ONE, meaning the exact same 'person', none higher than the other, inseparable, the exact same thing. They mainly use Catholics and Baptists, in my experience. Can anyone confirm or deny this? IMO, anyone I've ever spoken with (non-jw) does believe in the Trinity, but not in the above description. While they believe they are inseparable, they also believe they are 3 separate things/people....that they are "one" (as in united). But not ONE.

The Witnesses response was: "well, sure, there are individuals who believe that, but they are just using common sense and not following the bizarre teachings of their church."

Can you confirm or deny this? I haven't done enough research to know. Have any of you had experience with this? Do Most churches believe in the 1st OR the 2nd trinity belief?

the fact is this site is for anyone interested in jehovah's witness things, whether they are still witnesses or once were or just want to know about witness life.. what positive ways can we help a witness on this site?.

Botchower Babble and crap society, and Kingdumbhell Those are some of the words that drew me here to this Jehooba Witless site. It made me see that everything doesn't have to be so serious all the time. But I see what you are saying. It can appear disrespectful at first.

I'm afraid I do not understand , except this part:

I believe that someday, a child will be born to us, born of the twin Gods Narkissos and Leolaia, and His name shall be called Jehomah. Jehomah Williams to be precise (from late c20th Ebonics and middle American). This child shall be with us always, or at least whenever we need a ready reply to JW propoganda: "that is partially true, but the original language of that scripture was Aramaic, so therefore you lose and the bible is rubish...." (that sort of thing).

if a witness brought up the example of lazarus, how jesus said he was "asleep" (which really meant dead)....and then he resurrected him and more people than ever had faith in jesus.. as part of the argument that most don't go to heaven when they die, suppose a jw said "most people believe we go live it up in heaven when we die.

but wouldn't that be cruel on god's part to let lazarus' soul come to heaven and then have jesus bring him back to the crummy earth?

how would you respond to that?.

Organ Transplants...HELP!

i am doing research on this and have found many, many references.

wasn't there an article from the wtbs that speaks of organ transplanting as 'on of our modern marvels of this time'?

it would be before they changed their minds and called it cannabalism (prior to 1967).

Did I mention that one of the witnesses had the stereotypical,jw contemptuous attitute? But the other witness was literally STARING at the print-outs & even made the comment, "Wow, that is Crazy that they (I noticed she didn't say "we") used to think it was cannabalism.". We may have another member join jwn one of these days

I disagree with the soul being in heaven though, I think its the spirit that returns to heaven, although in my view, the two are inseparable, you can't have one without the other. To be honest, I'm not sure I understand the difference between the two

Or the entire thing could be fiction. That seems like a huge possibility these days. I'm just not sure.

Until I experience it myself by dying and being resurrected I cannot respond with any authority. Neither can anyone else. It's all speculation based on words written by people we have never met and whose credibility we cannot personally verify. That is why I never say things as fact, regarding jw beliefs or Bible. THEY DO, however, so I'm trying to figure out the best way to answer them. I may just say to them exactly what you said to me.

"Who knows, maybe Lazarus volunteered to come back." I like that answer too.

The bible tells us the dead "know nothing", death is not a conscious state, of that we all agree.

The spirit does go to the Lord, according to scripture. This just reminded me of a key point they made as well: "When Lazarus came back from the dead, did he speak of how great heaven was? No he did not because his spirit/soul died with his body." How would you respond to that?

I feel like if I used the analogy of the keys, I'd flub it up somehow like I do with jokes sometimes
