  hi, i remember reading crisis of conscience, and being really upset by that malawi cover-up situation.

  is any of that in public record?

  if i remember correctly, wasn't most of that information kept on the down-low?

  Another Trinity Thread

  can you clarify something for me please?

  the jw's teach that most (to them, that means all) religions teach the trinity as being that god almighty, jesus, and the holy spirit are literally one, meaning the exact same 'person', none higher than the other, inseparable, the exact same thing.

  they mainly use catholics and baptists, in my experience.

  did jesus' (and the apostles) names originally just consist of consonants?

  was it translated with tetragrammen (sp?

  i have no problem if the witnesses want to say "jehovah", but my nerves are grated when they insist that's one of the reasons they are the true religion..

  if a witness brought up the example of lazarus, how jesus said he was "asleep" (which really meant dead)....and then he resurrected him and more people than ever had faith in jesus.. as part of the argument that most don't go to heaven when they die, suppose a jw said "most people believe we go live it up in heaven when we die.

  but wouldn't that be cruel on god's part to let lazarus' soul come to heaven and then have jesus bring him back to the crummy earth?

  how would you respond to that?.

  Organ Transplants...HELP!

  i am doing research on this and have found many, many references.

  wasn't there an article from the wtbs that speaks of organ transplanting as 'on of our modern marvels of this time'?

  it would be before they changed their minds and called it cannabalism (prior to 1967).

  God & Santa

  just like people choose to believe in santa claus and the easter bunny, knowing they're not real but it's fun to believe, is there anything wrong with going to church and believing in the christian god when deep down you know its not real either?

  that's where i'm at these days.

  i'm finding that if you ask a jw a question as though you are completely confused (its got to be "sincere", not aloof), dumb, pondering, unsure, unconfident (that's the biggie), they will listen to what you have to say.

  if you ask things with even a *hint* of cocky attitude or a 'let me show you what you don't know' attitute, their minds will shut off instantly.

  just speaking from experience.

  Hostility to God's "name"

  i was given the brochure the divine name that will endure forever, and was pointed to page 20 which is entitled "hostility to god's name?".

  it says that the word jehovah was originally in the hebrew scriptures but was taken out.

  is this true?
