i don't know if it was just the memorial i went to or if this was across the board, but it seems that the talk was dumbed down a bit more than it had been in the past.

not that it wouldn't surprise me if was dumbed down.

No, I didn't go. But I showed up to eat free food at my dub family after-memorial get together in jeans, LOL.

okay, long title but now that i have your attention i can elaborate on what led up to this question and my attending the reject jesus party tonight to find out the answer.. my wife signed up to auxilliary pioneer, or whatever title you get for the limited time only special of a mere 30 hours of door to door work this month.

therefore, she has been away from home a lot slaving for the slave.

today, i called her on it and said that we could use her more at home helping me take care of things like the kids and the housework.

This should be funny. She's going to have to eat crow because according to WT policy, you can't go out with her preaching unless you are an approved publisher. You may be able to go out as an observer but you def can't preach, LOL

My Study Conductor Jumped Ship - Any Possible Explanations?

my study conductor has informed me that he & his wife are switching to a foreign language congregation that is far away from the territory they live in (it will involve a lot of driving back & forth).

because he is switching congregations, he said he will not have the energy to devote to my study and recommended another brother who could take over, and i have met him.

however, this change happened simultaneously with a decision i have made.

JW's have a lot of literature to read & study, meeting to attend that require participation. They practice 'WT-style teaching' at the TMS and in weekly FS.

In the literature, certain words/phrases are repeated again and again. The materials for talks come from pre-scripted outlines. Check out the Reasoning Book. At the end of each topic, supposed FAQ's from the ministry are included. The WT teaches how 'not' to ask answer these questions by either focusing on another related topic or questioning the reason/motive of the person asking.

Don't underestimate the cumulative effect of these teachings and being around people who think/speak/act the same way.

April "Pioneers" - a large army

anecdotally , from my ( rapidly diminishing number of ) jw contacts , it does seem that the april 30 hour pioneer campaign is going well.

some congregations have over 1/2 the publishers on the pioneer list for april , including all the elders & ms. .

These pioneer fakers are ruining my mornings. They are stalking my train stations, on the train, bus terminals, sitting in the park, outside the drugstore, loitering at the gas station and McD's! Lazy azzes too...they're not even trying to talk to folks. Just holding up the rags, avoiding eye contact and chatting it up with each other. This campaign is serious cramping my fade.
