you know what i found to be the creepiest? besides the completely alien tone of it now, but they only "interviewed" females ...
"that's right timothy.
just ask timothy.
i don't feel like the appropriate person to answer that question.

as many of you know my brother an elder was called on to sit in a "judicial committee" re-instatement.. the brother has in the past done all he can to prove he is repentant but this time the co was here and apparently had a few things to say to the cobe when they were discussing the process.
the co asked why the poor guy had four re-instatement hearings and why the co had received a letter from him detailing that he "did not think he could do anymore".. anyway, long story short, the co sat in the hearing and hey presto the brother was re-instated.
my brother and the co spoke with the brother and the co said that he had done well and was sorry that the process has taken so long and shook his hand.. now he mentioned the latest letter about confidentiality and said that the society is being hit left right and center with civil lawsuits and are scared as the have no way of defending them.
it seems with all the empasis on anti-bullying, the craptower should be a little worried, as their star chamber tactics and shunning and the gossip-mill could be construed as just that .. bullying.
perry, you have a pm
hi perry! you have a PM
the monsters in the thread title are not monsters of the mind or of nighmare, but just the friendly (or otherwise) little alien creatures depicting our forum selves.. it's illogical, but often i find myself feeling that these weird and wonderful creatures take on the personality of the poster.
phizzy's seems to me to be perfect for someone phizzy.
cantleave's suits him very well.
mine looks like a walking butt with a pig nose :(
apologies if this has been discussed before, but i am really very interested in finding out why members here left their congregations for lives away from jw?.
was there a "lightbulb" moment where you just woke up one day and realised that you had been brainwashed?
or a slow realisation over time?
hi curious. it wasnt a single moment for me. it was a series of events. i was practically raised in, and after getting to adulthood (and experiencing a terrible marriage to a violent disturbed witness), and subsequently seeing how ineffective and pathetic the leadership in the hall was, i withdrew and faded. i separated (and later divorced), but several years went by. i had as little contact with the witlesses as possible. it wasnt until i went to college and to therapy that i realised that i had been in a cult.
it has been a delightful journey ever since too :)
apologies if this has been discussed before, or is in the wrong forum, but i could really do with some advice.
two years ago i met the love of my life; someone i regard as my soulmate.
he is an active jw and i am a practising church of england person.
he is the classic example of living a double life. if he does that now, how do you think he will act after you are married?
can anyone tell me what is in this letter.
it is mentioned in the 'ps to coordinator of the body of elders' in the letter dated april 2, 2012 to be read on april 8, 2012 about the changes to the mags and the jw web site.
this feb 1st letter is to be read immediately following the special talk.
The Internet is a technology that Jehovah’s organization is using to good advantage to spread the
good news to all corners of the earth. Consider the impact our Web sites are having. On a typical day,
400,000 people, both Witnesses and non-Witnesses, visit watchtower.org, jw.org, or jw-media.org.
LOL 400,000 people visit a day and that constitutes "using (the internet) to good advantage"?
i love how they make it sound like its 400,000 DIFFERENT people each day, when in reality its probably Outlaw trying to hit them with a DDoS ...
i apologize if this is dumb and very basic, but, jesus, jacob, moses, et cetera (all the "ancient worthies") are of the anointed, or what are they?.
how about putting faith in a clown from brooklyn with his trumpet blasts ...
where i grew up, hunting and fishing was common. we moved to the east coast, and the Kingdumb Hell that we went to was full of hunter-haters ... they would give my family a hard time about it ... haters gotta hate
