My demon experience
by SweetBabyCheezits inone recent afternoon, me and a buddy were taking a trek around a nearby neighborhood and made our way past a delapidated house that had all the familiar symptoms of being haunted.
he suggested we check it out so, of course, we did.
it looked like it had been abandoned probably 30-40 years earlier but the previous owners had left behind a small coffee table.

Medical Marijuana, Your opinion please?
by Greybeard indo any of you use medical marijuana?
i go to aa and there are a few who believe medical marijuana is an "outside issue" and they are ok with it.
i don't know... alcohol doesn't work for me but if it did, i would use it... i wish i could find a "new drug" that works lol.

I've tried California medical marijuana... It's the good stuff; shame we have to import it to Texas.
One thing that I know that marijuana is good for is controlling anxiety. It has been one of the only thing that has kept my fiancee sane the last year. Before she started smoking regularly, she was throwing up every morning, having panic attacks during the day, and shaking and crying herself to sleep most nights.
Me... I just thinks it's a great way for me to relax.

Facebook Updates and Family Communication ... or a lack thereof
by 00DAD inhow would you feel if you just learned about an important family event from a facebook update and not directly from the family member themself?
how would you feel if you realized that in fact they had tried to call you (they didn't leave a message saying why they called because they wanted to tell you directly), but you never bothered to return their call?
my step-daughter recently got engaged and tried to call her brother to tell him.

The first time I was engaged, my mother found out when my ex left herself logged into Facebook on the family computer... and I've been similarly left out as well. It stinks from both ends.

Good story, SBC. Personally, I kind of wish that something like that would happen to me IRL, but I know that that is impossible (or at least very close to such).

Submitting an experience to WTS
by tootired2care injust curious, you always hear of the experiences in the yearbook or the wt about how jehovah provided for some lowly pioneer or disadvantaged person, or someone that put jehovah first.
were you ever personaly involved in one of the experiences or involved enough in the background to see how these experiences were authenticated for publications or assembly?
i'm wondering how much of these stories we hear are exaggerated or just outright lies, and what they had to do to sell it to us to motivate us to pioneer.

My uncle was in the yearbook 10-15 (or more) years ago, and apparently they told the story very accurately. Of course, I've also heard stories about assembly experiences being faked, so who knows whether he was the exception or the rule.
EDIT: I think the yearbook was in the eighties... Wow time flies.

i have modern warfare 3 but its kinda not what i expected, black ops was more fun.

TheClarinetist
I play a lot of Pokémon, with probably a couple of thousand hours worth of legendary Pokémon (including all the event legendaries) on my Black that got stolen. Also Zelda, Fallout, and any RPGs I can get my hand on. Right now I'm in the middle of a replay of The Minish Cap since I got it from the 3DS Ambassador program. I mainly use my PS3 for Fallout: New Vegas and as a Blueray player (lately, anyway).

Evil Spirits
by LizLA indoes anyone on this forum have knowledge about casting out demons or evil spirits?
there's at least two of them that have been harrasing me even before i was a jw.
i recently attended a deliverance church to find some help but it was apparent that the holy spirit was missing from that church.

Welcome to the forum. I'm an atheist myself, but this seems interesting enough that I asked my fiancee to weigh in.
Her method of choice:
Make a mixture of as much as you can find of: Basil, Bay leaves, Caraway, Cinammon, Clover, Garlic, Fennel, Lavender, Marjoram, Parsely, Peppermint, Rosemary, Sage, and Turmeric. Put it "somewhere", such as in a satchel or on a plate, and pray for protection from God. Divide the pile of herbs in half. Take two square pieces of yellow fabric roughly the size/shape of crackers, and begin sewing them together to make a small bag. With each stitch, focus on the spirits that are giving you trouble and how to get rid of them. When 3 of the 4 sides are sewn together, stuff cotton and half of the herb blend into the pouch you've made and sew up the final bit the same way. Take the second half of the herbs outside (or just wherever you have access to the outside, like a window) and throw it into the wind while wishing them away and saying something to the effect of "may they never bother me again". Then take the yellow pouch you created with you wherever you go for protection.

Obligatory "Pity Me" Thread
by TheClarinetist insince my thread asking for advice exploded into a conversation about whether or not it is legal to give advice about legal matters, i figured i'd repost my craziness here and update.. my lovely girlfriend accidentally blew up the kitchen while sauteeing chicken in hot oil.
by blew up, i mean she accidentally set the stove and wall on fire.
it was pretty crazy, we had three fire trucks and an ambulance there.

@Charlie Brown Jr. : Yep... I don't know how you can see it.
Hijacking my own thread because I feel the need to vent and don't want to make a fuss in another thread (I do that way too much):
Now the landlord is bitching at us about not getting everything cleaned for an inspection yesterday. We've been moving into the downstairs and attempting to move out the last of our roommate's stuff. It's been very time consuming, and out of the 10 days we had between given to clean, we've spent several in my fiancee's home town because first her cat (and best friend since she was 6) died, and then her grandfather got double pneumonia and is currently in the process of dying. Meanwhile, we've been given till Tuesday to get the place spotless because the owner is coming to see the place (owner is the landlord's son), and they "don't care that it's christmas". My fiancee is going crazy and can barely function from all the stuff that's been going on, and I'm not very far behind her. Oh, and the utilities are getting shut off on the 5th and we won't be able to pay for rent unless we somehow convince her grieving grandmother to give us around $2k. FML
