What a lame cop out by your mother, to say the least, blondie.
I'm saddened by just how common sexual abuse seems to be in the Watchtower (then and now).
wtf .
the st. louis archbishop embroiled in a sexual abuse scandal testified last month that he didnt know in the 1980s whether it was illegal for priests to have sex with children, according to a court deposition released monday.
archbishop robert carlson, who was chancellor of the archdiocese of minneapolis and st. paul at the time, was deposed as part of a lawsuit against the twin cities archdiocese and the diocese of winona, minnesota.
What a lame cop out by your mother, to say the least, blondie.

i strive to understand things by standing in a different spot and looking again.
i like to recontextualize things everybody seems to accept automatically and comfortably.. why?
to be able to see it for the first time, again.. .
Religionist steals faith, and then hides its crime by redefining faith as (religious) belief.
hye folks-just wanted some info.
is wearing a wire to a jc or any other meeting an easy-to-do thing.
how do you go about trying to find to an agency that hires out equipment?
If you choose to attend, you absolutely MUST record.
Both audio and video if you can.
Even if you never intend to use the recording afterward.
You never know.
"judge" rutherford defined or classified all religion as "a snare and a racket" in his books "religion" and "enemies".. after rutherford's death in 1942, his protege, watchtower vice president, and aclu darling, hayden c. covington, in the early 1950's, for reasons of legal expedience and supremacist aspirations, suddenly converted the watchtower into a religion.. this was done alongside one of the most audacious, spurious and longstanding swindles of the us legal system.
this involved twisting philippians 1:7 and misrepresenting the watchtower's true nature, objectives and activities.. .
this meant that it became necessary for the watchtower to suddenly reclassify and redefine religion (w51 1/15 p. 43 new legal booklet well named; w51 8/15 p. 511 questions from readers; yb75 p. 161 part 2 "for gladys bolton...").. two new watchtower classifications were suddenly created: "true religion" and "false religion".. now "true religion" meant "true beliefs" whilst "belief" in ever changing watchtower doctrine was equated with the one "faith" of scripture.. all this while the watchtower increasingly and maliciously truncated, obfuscated and hid the liberating full "good news" (or unabridged gospel) of scripture, which it lyingly claimed (in court) that it was actually "defending and legally establishing".. how would you have defined religion before learning ttatt?.
"Judge" Rutherford defined or classified ALL religion as "a snare and a racket" in his books "Religion" and "Enemies".
After Rutherford's death in 1942, his protégé, Watchtower Vice President, and ACLU darling, Hayden C. Covington, in the early 1950's, for reasons of legal expedience and supremacist aspirations, suddenly converted the Watchtower into a religion.
This was done alongside one of the most audacious, spurious and longstanding swindles of the US legal system. This involved twisting Philippians 1:7 and misrepresenting the Watchtower's true nature, objectives and activities.

Two new Watchtower classifications were suddenly created: "true religion" and "false religion".
Now "true religion" meant "true beliefs" whilst "belief" in ever changing Watchtower doctrine was equated with the one "faith" of scripture.
All this while the Watchtower increasingly and maliciously truncated, obfuscated and hid the liberating full "Good News" (or unabridged gospel) of scripture, which it lyingly claimed (in court) that it was actually "Defending and Legally Establishing".
How would you have defined religion before learning TTATT?
How would you now define religion?
And why?
i went to an appointment today and what do you know a trolley.. i couldn't stop and chat, but i have another appoinment thursday, i will go early and have a chat.
i love this it's great fun chatting to jws whilst being df'd.. any ideas for my presentation?.
do you think i am harming myself?.
I'd love to ask them why they call themselves "publishers of the Good News" when the "Good News" according to Paul, Moses, Isaiah and Psalms is not on their lips or in their heart.
Or like a fellow JWNer asked: "Since Jesus is not your mediator, who is?"
my best friend of 14 years and maid of honor passed away 2 months ago at age 32 after battling breast cancer for 6 years.
i haven't been the same since for many reasons.. as a jw kid i believed 144,000 chosen went to heaven, the good people would be resurrected including those who didn't have a chance to hear about jehovah, and the rest, which were of other religions and bad people, died and would cease to exist.
again, because i was a kid when i left, i never really understood the jw position on death and why they came to their conclusion.
According to scripture, eternal life (in perfect conditions) on earth (the physical realm) and in heaven (the spirit realm) is the "one hope" (Eph 4:4) which is open to any and all who embrace the liberating (30+ ingredient) gospel message instead of religion (human hierarchies, legalism and moralism).
Physicists (like Michio Kaku) and astronomers (like Carl Sagan) have done a lot to demystify higher dimensions.
In fact, according to Michi Kaku, three dimensions are not enough to explain gravity, electromagnetism and nuclear forces - which proves the existence of higher dimensions. It would appear that Physicists have traced a mathematical path from our familiar 3 dimensions right up to 11 dimensions in "hyperspace".

i was called into a meeting by one of the department managers last week.
i had a meeting this morning.. anyway, to cut a long story short.
the people involved in this will be called into a private meeting and spoken to.
Them shunners dread being shunned, so either way I guess they'll have to deal with some serious Cognitive Dissonance...
Just may be the wake up call they've been needing.
just to point out that there is no difference between those who are in an organization or church and those who are not.
it rains on us all.
the mistake some make is to think some people are more righteous than others.
Indeed cassuk11.
For all are dysfunctional and fall short of the image and glory of God.
The gospel (as part of the the central message of scripture) especially says we are all equal:
by grace or unmerited favour
the free gifts of liberation, imputed righteousness, and imputed holiness
are available to any and all who would accept these generous terms
and abandon religious legalism, moralism, hypocrisy and self-righteousness.
an elderly sister pointed to the printed out pledge forms on the literature counter and asked me what this was about, because she'd missed a couple of meetings.
i tactfully (and very quietly!
) explained that there was a new donation arrangement via pledging!
Thank you for sharing on making a difference while still inside the beast...
in january my wife separated from me, because she views me as an apostate (to make the story short).. at that time the elders explained to us, that the bible doesn't approve of such a separation.
i heard from my mother in law, that my wife finally wants to divorce.
(when i think of how my wife treated me the last year i actually want a divorce too).. now my question to you:.
In JW land anything can and does happen.
So good posts above, but who knows?
If neither party wants to reconcile, why not just let your wife know that in the interests of peaceful relations (and an amicable divorce settlement, especially custody & visitation) you'll cooperate and make it as easy as possible for her to move on and get remarried?
Best wishes as this unfolds.
