Had dinner with friends-found out none of got Baptized because we loved God
by PaintedToeNail inmy spouse and i had supper with some long time friends this evening.
we got onto the subject of baptisim, and out of the four of us, we all got baptized for some other reason than love of jehovah.
i find this to be really sad.

I should have got baptised as a PHYSICAL SYMBOL of the SPIRITUAL reality of coming to faith in Jesus, having had my sin (dysfunction) IMPUTED to him at his death, and having had his righteousness, holiness, sinlessness and sonship IMPUTED to me, as a legal transaction secured by his ransom sacrifice, and as a free unmerited gift.
The Watchtower Sanhedrin (Governing Body) had other ideas where I would belong to and follow them instead of Jesus the stone of stumbling and rockmass of offense whom they rejected when laying the foundations of their kingdom.

My spiritual journey has led me to identify as SBNR (Spiritual But Not Religious) and into fellowship with organic (natural) faith communities where the idea that a woman should be silent in fellowship now seems quite preposterous.
When I interpreted the Bible as error free AND within a religious framework I simply was not able to see just how ridiculous the whole "Christless Christianity" box and dice was.
Truth be told though, women may want to be eternally grateful they were prevented from joining the Pharisaic, self-righteous, apostate, criminal and bloodguilty ruling religious hierarchy dominated by power hungry and power mongering men who are spiritually blind, naked, confused, inebriated and insane! And having been silenced by the hierarchy how can women be culpable (aside from GB worshipping and fawning elderettes)?!!

Is it possible to be friends with a devout Jehovah's Witness?
by losthobbit injust wondering if it's possible for a non-religious person like me to be friends with a devout jehovah's witness.
as i understand they don't like to mix with us lower life forms.
any thoughts?.

Probably depends to what extent the Watchtower follower buys in to Watchtower supremacist and exclusivist propaganda and self-righteousness.
A romantic friendship is probably trouble as in TROUBLE.

Suicide - How many do you know within the JWs

one interesting but truly tragic is the number of jwhovah's witnesses who commit suicie.. now i suspect that if a person commits suicide shortly before or after they are disfellowshipped then the elders would say that person wasn't a witness or that they had done something so terrible that they were too guilty to admit it and by their action of committing suicide they pretty much declared they were no longer a jw.. yup fancy talk to make sure any crap didn't fall on them.. so my question.. do you know of cases like this?
if so then can you answer a few more questions.. had this person been dfed or in real danger of being dfed or whatever the equivalent is if they were never baptized?.

Thank you for sharing your story of gross WBT$ bungling, incompetence and abuse. I am certain it is all too common due to the (supremacist, self-righteous, unrepentant and apostate) way the WBT$ is structured and operates - sorry you had to go through it too.
My brother succeeded in committing suicide whilst DF'd.
My mother tried, likely a few times, in the early years of her marriage.
I had persistent suicide thoughts probably around this time too (pre-teen years).
Now that I am out, after 4 decades and 3 generations, I see and understand virtually the whole picture, where this is all by detailed design of the "god of religion" with whom the GB lustfully fornicate spiritually every opportunity they get, so as to keep us from the "God of Abraham" and his powerful healing message known as the Abrahamic Promise or the full unabridged gospel.
The idea is that when we discover we have been spiritually raped (and often physically too) we would run from God whereas we've never come to know him in the first place, since we never knew we had to or could look for him and have a real personal relationship with him (apart from the apostate pseudo-mediator ruling religious clergy class or Pharisees/FDS/GB/Sanhedrin).
The "cognitive dissonance" we all had to live with for decades is a known and powerful tool (of the "god of religion") for creating mental distress and illness, along with all manner of dysfunction and abuse repeatedly described by all on this forum.
It is no mere accident that the WBT$ ruling religious clergy class (Pharisees and Sanhedrin/GB) have become carbon copies of Jesus' religious enemies as described in Matt 23 with their supremacist self-righteousness attained by means of apostate legalism, moralism, ethnocentrism and Gnosticism.
It is no mere accident that Watchtower followers who claim to be "publishers of the good news" are ignorant of the "good news according to Paul". More than half the Bible's 152-odd references to the "good news" are by Paul!!!

this post is not to criticize wts but to open honest discussion among mature followers of christ.. there has been much controversy around the wts doctrine regarding the arch angel michael.
as many are aware, wts believe that jesus in his pre-human existence was michael , gods first born.

The Watchtower being RBNS (Religious But Not Spiritual) is dead wrong when it says there are TWO hopes and TWO classes (FDS or clergy class, versus "other sheep" or laity class). When Jesus was speaking about the "other sheep" he was talking about the gentile believers whom he would soon call.
According to Eph 4:4-6:
One body
one spirit,
one hope
one Lord,
one faith,
one baptism;
one God and Father of all [persons], who is over all and through all and in all.

1* when the scriptures refer to " i have other sheep not of this foal" it may mean gentiles as well as jews of which the new covering of circumcision applied .. 2* the term little flock is similar to the term little book a phrase of commonality used in greek translations .. rutherford acting as veto, to the majority fds as in singular and not plural invented the two class system ,( read his book doors close in 1936 ) which i no doubt will be yet another of wts do not re-print list .. rutherford had an irion handed approach and was not liked among his very own peers i believe god used him only for his legal expertise ( espionage act 1918 vs. usa constitution ) but thats about it.

Some items of potential benefit and interest on your journey:
- Explain from the heart what is "legalism" and its opposite. "Legalism" is only mentioned once in the entire Watchtower library on CD (in a great and profound article).
- Now explain moralism, ethnocentrism, and Gnosticism.
All are gravely serious apostate denials of so called Christian faith (actually Abrahamic faith). Also compare Matt 23 (religion, especially self-righteousness and externalism) with Rom 3 and 4 (the "good news" especially about IMPUTED righteousness).

I agree with your reservations and much of your comments.
Whilst pursuing the full unabridged "good news" especially according to Paul, I was granted faith as an unmerited free gift and experienced a gradual Spiritual Awakening (was born again - spiritually this time, anointed by Holy Spirit as an adopted son of God, but not as one of the supposed FDS class or ruling religious clergy class).
The term "the anointed" does not appear even once in the New Covenant scriptures, even in the corrupted NWT, where the Greek "ho Kristos" (the anointed) has ALWAYS been correctly translated as "the Christ".
This means any claiming to be "THE ANOINTED" are actually false Christs and pseudo mediators standing between God and man! Generally though, I assume very few partakers see themselves as the sole enlightened ones through whom a supposed laity class must feed. This apostate Pharisaic notion is more common amongst those in the ruling religious hierarchy (MS and elders up to GB/Sanhedrin).
