  What did YOU do during the downtime?

  so, if i'm not much mistaken jwd was just down for over 24 hours - the longest time i can remember in over four years of posting here.

  these things happen - c'est la vie.. so what did you do during this time?

  did you suffer the dts?

  The weather was great yesterday so I cut the grass, and the puppy next door decided to make friends, and helped me with the yard work. :) I also worked out at the downtown Y, followed by a few hours walking around a couple of large antique malls, and back home again to visit with neighbors across the street. I've been hooked on those darn SUDOKU crossword puzzles of late, which puts me to sleep if I'm not reading a book.
  It's great being normal again, doing normal things, and feeling good about life. It's a shame when we allow others to take that away.

  "our co just came back from two months co training.

  It's interesting how JWs that were around 30 or more years ago have a way of forgetting what the Tower said in the past. Most folks on this forum can recall comments made when they were Witnesses, but Dubs still in have a blockage to that part of their brain. It must be the spiritual food. :))

  Wow -- All that the JWs need to do is to STOP going door-to-door so the big guy can bring it on. They have had it wrong all these years because God wants "the rocks to cry out." I bet they feel foolish.

  What was the first thing Adam said when he set eyes on Eve?

  according to the bible he decided to name her "woman".

  in the previous verses he had been on an exercise to name all the beasts of the field and birds of the air.. personally, if i'd been wandering around a paradise garden on my own for years naming animals and suddenly set eyes on a perfect naked woman, i think i would be inclined to invent the first swear word.. although later, when eve gave birth, adam said it had been "with the lord's help".

  so maybe he wasn't quite as spontaneous as i'd imagined, or maybe adam thought god was serious when he said she was a "helper".

  i was adopted into a jw family in southern california.

  my birth mother gave me up after 6 months (the terms mom & dad refer to my adoptive/real parents).

  she gave me up due to the fact that she already had a three year old boy, and back in the late sixties it was not as socially acceptable to be a single mother.

  well, i have been sorting through thousands of files i have collected over the last 10 years about jws and the wts.

  it is going to take a while but eventually elsewhere will get them.

  but every now and then i will post something that i had no idea i had.. like this little gem.. it was very common for the media to be in attendance at the dcs.

  one & Leolaia -- Yeah that's the quote. Anytime a householder opened the door when we were offering "The Truth" book, I read the quote, which lead into offering the book. I used to place (sell) those little blue books by the dozens in the early 1970's; they were 25 cents. Once again, the Tower tried to hide their 1975 failure by removing the quote in the WT CD copy.
  It's 31 years after the END OF THE WORLD, and the "this generation" record is still playing at the local KH to the sleeping few.
  DanTheMan -- Thanks for bring back the quote you posted; I forgot about that one. So many failed dates and quotes, and so little time! :)

  **"the book had 22 chapters, and was designed to be completed with our "Bible" studies in 6 months!!"**
  Do any of you remember the quote that was in the first part of "The Truth" book from a US offical spoken in 1960? It said something about the world being too harmful to live in within 15 years. Of course that pointed to 1975 without the book saying it.
  Of interest, the Tower pulled that quote out of the book after their 1975 failure. I still have an eariler copy of "The Truth" with that quote, and still remember using it at every door.
