Like a good little JW, I also carry a blood card--from the Community Blood Center in my town. ABP blood type here. I've given several times, and encourage other ex-JWs to do likewise. It helps others (and could save a life), and it's a statement to the $ociety.

ive been watching my number of posts climb towards 2,000 in recent days.. it seemed a good time to contemplate what ive learned in the two years, seven months and five days (according to my profile) since i joined the interactive fray although i lurked here for more than a year while i was a jw elder.
during that time, i read every single post starting with the first page and caught up.
of course, its impossible to read every one now, its so big, but it's been quite an education.

as a bit of a newbie , i'm interested as to the overall viewpoint of site users and spectrum of views.. using a crude gauge , where 1 = completely convinced "stepford"jw ("jhs organisation is wonderful etc") and 10 is a completely rabid "tear down the tower" apostate/ex-witness pathalogically hating the whole jw structure , where do you fit in?
(apolgies to both groups - no offense intended).. i'm about 2.5 - somewhat disillusioned , keen for reforms in certain areas but broadly accepts the teachings and loves the lifestyle.

Interesting topic. Any high-control religious group offers members friendship and a community. The price for cult friendship and community is always the same--unquestioned belief in their dogma. Questioning is always a sign of spiritual weakness, and if it continues, there is hell to pay.
The number 10 is far too kind for religious cults, but put me down for 10. In the end cults do more harm than good--unless a follower is willing to put his/her head in the sand and never question. To be sure, there are some poor souls like that, and the Tower is more than willing to lead the blind. However, many folks start to slowly awaken, and the Watchtower Society shows its true colors.
often what we accept in society, is based on how and where we were raised.
for example, in some countries it is okay to have more then one spouse and arranged marriages are how you marry.
often we take these examples, and others that happen elsewhere, and label them as just wrong.
Someone else to cook, clean, run the kids to fotbol, appointments, dishes, laundry......oh yes, can I please have one!!!!!
There is a article written years ago by a woman called, "I Want a Wife." It was very well done, and used in some college classes addressing the issues you addressed.
ok' the bible is full of errors and inconsistencies some will say, so does this make the bible nul and void?.
some verses are still very clear, like thy shall not steal, or thy shall not commit adultery or fornication... .
some will think that if you find a few errors or inconsistencies in the bible, then it's not trustworthy anymore, so scrap the whole book.
The Bible is okay if you don't take it religously.

Swingers have clubs thoughout the United States where they meet other couples for sexual fun and games. Most of the couples are married, but enjoy sex with others, too. The Canadian Supreme Court just ruled that Swinger Clubs are legal in that country. It's an interesting concept that's been around for years.
