Heads up, the Local Needs part this week is a special talk on blood transfusions.
by miseryloveselders ina brother called me to ask who was delivering the talk at our hall.
i didn't know what he was talking about.
he then explained to me that this week, for the local needs, congregations across the us will have a brother deliver a special outline on blood transfusions.. .

My mother's hall is so not with it. Their local needs was totally unrelated. Meanwhile,it was to be given throughout the U.S.

untitled
by Dawn2011 ini've been visiting this forum for quite awhile now, reading as much as i can about others in situations similar to mine.
i've learned alot but i think i am ready to share and will really appreciate whatever advice/thoughts anyone has to offer.. i'm a "wordly" gal (non-demoninational christian) and have been dating a jw for a year.
he has been a witness for about 34 yrs but has been inactive the past two due to the way he and his ex were treated when she was df'd for cheating/alcoholism.

It appears from what you wrote that you truly love this man. You really need to have a heart-to-heart discussion with him. It's not fair of him to keep your relationship in limbo, until he decides whether or not he is going to go back to being a Witness again.
Well,I wish you the best, and hope it works out for you both.

Anyone here have any experience with the "super-natural"?
by Knowsnothing inand if so, would that prove an existence of evil-spirits (demons)?.
i have heard of a couple of stories of possession, or of jw's talking to spiritists and the spiritists having seen 2 men following the jw, either dressed all in black, or all in white, and very strong looking.
yet, i have never experienced any of it.. another experience that i heard is about a brother whose mom had super-natural strength, and tossed something really heavy.

When I was a teenager,I had sleep paralysis a few times, and I thought I was having trouble with the demons. It was a relief to find out what the real problem was,but it was frightening.
I had some other eerie experiences, but I just don't feel comfortable sharing it on the board. I'm sure one day I'll figure out a logical explanation to it all.

The Smell of Coffee
by snowbird ini've returned to work, and, at the request of my long-suffering boss, am taking it slow and easy.. he has just put on a pot of joe; the aroma is overpowering.. one of my earliest memories is getting up around 5 am to share a morning cup with my papa.. i must have been around 2 or 3 at the time, because my parents separated when i was going on 4.. papa taught me to read from the maxwell house coffee can, having me read the words, good to the last drop to him each morning.. whenever i get a whiff of coffee brewing, i am taken back to those long-ago mornings in a lamplit cabin, sitting on my father's knee, sipping coffee and reading to him, basking in the glow of his praise and love.

I've figured out the cause of all the recent turmoil on JWN....
by Mr. Falcon inever since i've started posting here regularly, there has been upheaval, threats of leaving and threats of banning by many active contributors.
people have spoken their minds and have been chastised; people have attacked others and threads have been locked.. well, after reading my bible, i've determined the cause of all this.

Well,I figured somebody had to be grieving the holy spirit, probably from viewing nasty websites. They must be reported, lol.

I'm a clique of one...
by mrsjones5 ini'm a loner.. offline, i have few friends.
the friends i do have are dear to me but i'm bad at communicating with them, meaning i don't call often.
facebook has been a boom with me cuz i can keep contact with folks i really care about without being constantly in contact with them which would drive me crazy.. on this board i haven't got too deep with folks.

I'm the same way also. I think it started clear back in grade school, being a Witness,I was taught to remain seperate. So I stayed back and just observed. This carried on with many situations in life.
And I'm happy just having a couple of close friends. Although, this fading business has already cost me a close friend, and that's hard.
But, I get you Mrs. Jones. I bet if we met in person, eventually, lol,we would be good friends. And I wouldn't call you everyday either.

Why would a JW call a "goat" during lunch break at the Assembly?
by skeeter1 inthis has happened a few times, so i now ask your thoughts.. so the new posters know, i was raised in and left.
never baptised.
so, close family & friends still talk with me.

Hi Skeeter,I didn't mean to make you feel bad. As I mentioned,I don't know this person and what is behind their motivation for calling you from the assembly.
I was just sharing my personal experience and how I felt miserable at the assemblies. I would call a relative who was unable to attend the convention, due to health reasons, because I was lonely and homesick and to check up on my pets they were taking care of for me.

JW's View of Dating when Still Married
by charlie brown jr. ini knew an elder who's wife left him not divorce seperated..... he started seeing this sister and went out to dinner with her every kh gathering there they were sitting and very open with their feelings.. finally this elders wife filed for divorce and less than a month later ..........this elder and sister were married.. he told me while he was still married i know who i would marry!
i thought if this was anyone else they would be talked too so fast.. everyone in the hall whispered about the 2 but since he was an elder no one had the guts to say anything..... anyone else see elders or others because of their status..... get away with things anyone else would be df'd for?.

Yes,a person has to be legally divorced and scripturally free to remarry, to be able to start dating again. But, I have known a few that date someone before their divorce is final, and even individuals who aren't scripturally free. It would be a frustrating situation to be in for a Witness.
