JEHOVAH NEEDS YOUR MONEY FOR 2014!!!!!!!!
by DATA-DOG inhas anyone else recieved the letter from the gb about international conventions in 2014?
according to the letter the missionarys/order of full time servants desperately need to get to the conventions in their homeland.
so to accomplish this, jehovah needs 15 cents per publisher, per congregation for some months ( sorry i can't remember the exact length of time ).

it is deemed "inappropriate" to privately subsidize a trip for a missionary relative or close friend?!?!? i see where going around asking for $$$ for a particular person is pretty crass, but if a person prefers to directly assist someone - what's the matter with that?!?

How do these Hard Core JW's Function?
by Zordino ini am a fader and through the years i've known and spoken to jw's who live their entire life around the religion.
they live as though they speak with jesus himself!
what really got to me was the other day me and my wife had to stop by some elder's house and it was a saturday night.

could be its easier to let someone/thing else do your thinking for you than to take responsibility for it yourself...

33 %
by Theredeemer inso, my mother in law who is still active went out in service with the group that had the co visit and came back with some very interesting news.
first off, she knows that we are fading and is ok with it and has some doubts herself.
anyhow, she said that the co went off track during the meeting before service and mentioned how we are now allowed to receive up to 33% of blood in a transfusion.

huh?!?

What are your reasons for posting here?
by sonnyboy ini'm curious as to what drives some people to post at certain boards.. for me, i first came here over a year ago thinking this was a pro-jw site, ready to jump on the dubs.
lol.
little did i know.... i posted here exclusively for a while, but then found that the repetitive topics became tedious.

we know where we've been and what it was like being absorbed by the religion and then removing ourselves from it. there is a lot in life that some of us have missed out on due to years frozen in inactivity of real life....i come here and post because i know there are those who can relate....i go to work and have friends, but there is a big gap in my history that remains unspoken and can't be really understood by anyone except someone who has been there............
and i look for humor and get some very good laughs from some of the dudes here!
