Beyond physical...inner connection with universal energy...your spirit...the qualities you embrace and express. The love and compassion...your ethics.... Realization that you are human and that there is more than what is tangible. Appreciation that our scope is limited..just a few thoughts on something quite elusive. I do believe love is the key but it gets skewed.

Very interesting reads....I personally am of the mind that it is all about the oil and the money. Warring tribal factions still exist sadly enough.....history is littered with marauding bands and their atrocities. Set them in motion and have them sitting on a resource like black gold and yes....follow the dollar...you got a problem.
As an aside I always thought the king of the north would end up being the Islamic groups and south Christendom.... The hidden reserves, the oil the north rules over.....Isaac vs Ishmael.
If only intelligence, compassion and ethical behaviors could prevail....

So...the cease and desist thing....do they honor only the requests submitted on their approved form or do they also honor Joe Schmoe's handwritten letter saying stay away that he sends to the local cong?
And...dumb dumb dumb....in order to get into a prison to visit I thought they ensured visitors were clean of paraphernalia of a questionable sort....or is it that dopey dubs have gotten on a watch list for having contraband on them when they came apreaching?

One especially vile female loved to tout her "Bible-trained conscience". This is what motivated her to do Saturday evening drive-bys to see who was at whose house socializing. And subsequently endeavor to get her gutless elder husband to get his cronies together to launch investigations as to happenings and especially beverage consumption on those occasions.
And the "Bible-trained conscience" is closely related to the "cause for stumbling". The stronger the impelling of that conscience the greater the liklihood of "stumbling" evidently.

by HiddenPimo ini saw this mentioned on reddit but no link - i found the article form this weeks bible study..... in the “congregation bible study” part of the meeting this week there was a part that said and i quote: “only jehovah god and his son can receive someone into the heavenly kingdom or the paradise on earth under that kingdom.
we should diligently cultivate friendship with them by using what material riches we have in supporting kingdom interests”.

But really...isn't it in Isaiah that all the gold and all the silver belongs to God? So why would he want or need human $$ which is basically a means of exchange? And why is it that it is said God is a spirit and you must worship in spirit and truth? No mention of your bank account. Further...what about the worlds destitute population? They must really be doomed. If it takes $$$ those promoted to paradise will have to be exclusively from the well-heeled .....

As a JW Did You Prefer a “Stricter” Congregation or a More Liberal One?
by minimus inin my experience, there were three types of witnesses.
some were barely witnesses while others were extremely conservative types who followed the letter of the law.
and then you had those in the middle who just went with the flow.. i knew many witnesses who “felt safe” being in a stricter environment.they were actually proud that they belonged to such and such congregation because it was filled with strict bethelites..

I grew up in a congregation where my father was a servant, overseer, then elder when they adopted that title....he and a fellow elder prided themselves in their terms on "running a tight ship"....The next cong over had a reputation for being loose. How many times I heard it said "I'd be out of the truth if I were in that congregation".
I eventually landed in that cong and the atmosphere was much happier and friendlier....there was actually a good camarderie....unlike the cong populated mainly by mentally deficient gossips....
