Flood over everest
by road to nowhere inmeeting part comment on how the flood covered everest.
that is even more ignorant than mountains being pushed up and eroding in a few thousand years.
and it wasnt cold either.. i should have commented on the bristlecone in the awake that survived the flood.

Wasn't it that giant water canopy from Edenic times....when the atmosphere was warm and humid and bright sun didn't shine through as we know today....and then the canopy plopped and submerged earth in massive tons of water and reshaped the geography and altered the geology???
I personally believe there was a flood in ancient days.....localized however....and speculations as to the topography and changes wrought are just that....speculations.

"Fine Witness" diluted in latest experience
by neat blue dog inthe latest jwdotorg experience starts very familiarly:.
danielle, one of jehovah’s witnesses in south africa, found a bag that a customer had left behind in a coffee shop.
inside the bag was a wallet with money and credit cards.. when the owner met her to get it back,.

These tales used to annoy me to the nth degree....so if you weren't a dub you'd be a crook is what they're saying.
When I was very young I had a part time job in a department store...they had hired another girl who was a witness I did not personally know. Well boss comes to me asking about her because they had ample proof that she stashed a bag of clothes and made off with it ...she got canned for the theft. So...being a witness does not equate with honesty in reality.

Outcast Doctrines
by Socrateswannabe inin a recent post about the watchtower’s claim that all animals were created as vegetarians, one commenter said that watchtower could no longer sustain this belief so they simply stopped talking about it.
i began thinking about other wacky doctrines and statements by the borg that have faded away.
i’ll offer two of them below, but the complete list must be longer than your arm.. 7000 year-long creative days: watchtower once taught that each of the creative days was 7,000 years in duration, hence the hype leading up to 1975. they believed that year marked 6,000 years since adam’s creation, and oh how nicely the 1,000-year reign would fit as the last piece of the puzzle, thus completing the final “day”.

Haha....balaams ass...that is really good! I remember a long time ago someone wrote a satire on "The Ass Class".....
Yeah....millions now living will never die....
The transplant issue...from cannibalism to okay....I remember not being able to process how it was fine and dandy to accept an organ from another body but not the blood that circulates to keep that organ alive and functional...
The TV "Mr. Ed" that I recall was not a documentary but an American sit-com.....and a very lame one at that...

If you speak against the Governing Body you will be punished.
by punkofnice inthis was a comment from the meeting(tm) on sunday.. the person that told me about it, is very confused about the validity of the corporation.
somewhere between a pimo and a pimi-lite.
the thing that angered me was that this person has cancer.

They certainly have an issue with accepting Jesus statement that your leader is one, the Christ..and all of you are brothers....
As for illness resulting from lack of faith in a few men with grandiose delusions....that is just idiotic.

Welcome! And waste no more precious time disentangling from the religious web. It is a difficult process in many cases, depending on family and personal relationships, but freedom is invigorating and life is to be lived.

Unfortunate circumstance....has nothing to do with the religion however....just someone in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sad the criminal element in society exists and wreaks havoc on the innocent...

Oh yeah....I recall a lot of undue taking advantage of others....expecting free work because "we're brothers".... My husband was a professional and I can't tell you how many expected him to do their bidding for free....he picked up on that really fast though and when asked would recommend a company for them to call...provided names and numbers of appropriate contractors . the requests died down.....haha
Then there was one nepotistic dynasty involved in cleaning enterprises mainly....they were all "under the table" crooks....elders too. The IRS caught up with one big time....and he bragged all over the place about how he got his settlement in thousands settled down to about a fifth of actual tax debt...
And another who bought a car off a fellow elder but never paid him....and got away with it because we can't bring reproach to Jehovah's organization.

by Terry ini appreciate all my friends who stop to read what i write and post.
you help me more than you know simply by being there as a sense of 'family of friends' for me to talk to and 'share' thoughts with.i guess if i didn't have stories left to tell or people to listen, i could pack it in and join elon musk in a colony on mars.january 15, 2020. .
which world is this?_________________when the doctor pulled my screaming body out of mom all those 7 decades ago, i landed in a post-wwii world.it was--compared to today's world--an alien planet.the world i live in today has nothing in common with the world in which i grew up.there were no cell phones back then--there were black telephones with a dial-tone and an operator who placed your call.everywhere you found telephone booths!

So so true! Our lifetime has seen much change. Lot of fantastic technological and scientific advances....but sad deterioration of appreciation for true art, nature and ones fellow man. Education is going downhill...the dumbing down of society in general...and love...romantic love....falling in love. People hook up for personal gratification and couple based on convenience....and they miss out on one of the most awesome human experience.
