  this weeks service meeting was typical.. "where were you?

  " "i'm concerned about you".

  then the typical song and dance of the parts/talks, all recycled notions of doing better in the service.

  Standing Room Only at Tulsa District Convention

  my parents were to attend the dc in tulsa, when they arrived, there was no parking and no seats available.

  is this because there are more people in the area or fewer locations and times?.

  any ideas?.

  Sometimes they can't rent arenas due to cost or local politics...I know many many years ago the civic center in Portland Maine put the kibosh on them....and those people have to travel down to Massachusetts. And of course most of them don't have decent jobs to be able to afford the weekend. I guess a free clean-up job of the premises doesn't always fly....so glad those days are history for me!

  looking up all the references is a lot of work - one of the reasons nobody normally verifies these, but trust the writers.

  as you will see, the writers are banking on this, but it is not a good thing to trust the wtbts writers.

  please find the bibliography worked out for quotes 38-51, covering the heading "what about human evolution".. interesting is that many quotes are from the [u]preface[/u] of books, where the authors honestly explain the difficulties and assumptions related to evolutionary science.. [b]what about human evolution?[/b].

  This is one thing that I find especially outrageous; misquotes and in so many cases absolute omission of reference material. This is one reason why they insist that their drones not be educated beyond high school. College education opens the mind to critical thinking and one realizes that for information to be reliable, current and useful, it must reflect proper research and proper use of researched materials. Most of the WT & Awake articles are simply bland groups of statements with no backup. When they get into real scientific stuff, it gets even worse, because they pick and choose phrases and reconnect them to fit whatever point they wish to make. There is no honesty in portrayal of evidence. As such, it is fit only for the recycle bin.

  OMG....this is just so freakin ridiculous! And YES, that guy looks like the dork in the other photo. And YES, her hair is a complete disaster and her dress is pretty doggone bad too. They really don't have a clue what reality is like, do they!?!? Do they even know about all the sexual harassment laws in place in businesses today? In order for people to actually have an affair, they obviously have to have a thing for eachother on some level...and just shooting the breeze or being friendly isn't going to land you a lust-filled liason unless you WANT it to and make it happen. So are they thinking that all their drones are so darn sex-starved that they'd go for anyone anytime anyway????? What wonderful trust they have in the morals and decency of their flock. Idiots...

  I'm glad my children don't have to grow up being afraid of cupcakes

  yesterday, i brought a batch of cupcakes to my son's school.

  in passing them out, i started to give one to one of the children, who was a jw.

  he immediately started freaking out and screaming "no thank you" over and over.

  porr kid...i'm glad he got his cupcake. it's just so ridiculous and so emotionally devastating to a child to be forced to be an outcast when most of the time they really don't even get what is so bad about a party...a turkey in november, funny costumes at halloween...let the kids be kids and enjoy themselves. ahhhh but they can't. peer pressure is bad enough, but to go out of your way to make your child fearful of all things fun and part of growing up is just plain sick.....but then that's what it's all about. creating a bunch of little robots running around banging on doors and having no education or life.

  District Assembly Dramas - where the heck do they come from?

  despite growing up a jw i was always curious where this corny plays came from?

  my best memories of them were when they used to turn the lights out in the convention center - cause that meant i could sleep!!!

  but seriously, who writes them?

  my $1.87 bottle of pepsi at dunkin donuts

  i drive all day at work.. i usually pack my thermos of coffe, but have to stop 2 times a day for a drink.. the other day was dying of 98 degree heat, so i was hard up for a drink.. alas, i saw a dunkin donuts, figured they gotta have something other than cofee.. saw, the frig with soda, and iced teas.............. picked up a 20oz pepsi.. went to pay for it, sir it will be $1.87.

  i was thirsty so i paid it promptly.. as i walked away, i wish i could mark up stuff this much.. in my work, i can barely mark stuff up 25-30% and these guys marking this stuff up 300%?.

  i can go to supermarket and buy 3 of these for what 1 cost or buy 1 1/2 large bottles.. where is this going?
