  aunt connie - if you believe your religion is christian, you need to rethink jesus commandment to love. the true christian is to love all people and judgment belongs only to christ. you are setting yourself up as judge over others and you are adamantly encouraging partiality and mis-treatment of those you consider inferior to you.

  my take - either you are stirring the pot and making this all up as you go along or you are delusional.

  i was scared sh*tless.

  i stayed home from work for four days scared to go out of my house thinking god would strike me down by lightening if was wrong with my thoughts... i couldn't sleep at all.... but i had to take that first step... as scary as it was....

  i found the site - was reading stuff and had to get my two cents worth in....so registered and posted...i think i was more relieved than anything to find people who understood and who'd gone the same route..........freedom is a wonderful thing.

  we all know that beth hell monitors this site.. they have repeatedly had sites shut down for quoting large portions of their litterature.

  not this one.. do you think this board enables them to keep a finger on the pulse of what is going on in ex and aposto land?

  they would have no just cause or legal right to shut down any site it would seem to me. we do have freedom of expression - and they do NOT rule the world, contrary to their warped self absorbed viewpoint. as for them monitoring the site - if they choose to do that, so what. they have no hold over any of us and our thoughts, ideas, expressions, etc. and what good would it do them? you got some guy at bethel plowing through all these posts and unless he is a stone-hearted moron robot, he's going to realize we're all onto something here. TTATT.

  test score breakdownidiot-0-25imbecile-26-50moron--51-70mildly gifted -- 115 to 129moderately gifted -- 130 to 144highly gifted -- 145 to 159exceptionally gifted -- 160 to 179profoundly gifted -- 180marilyn vos savant--228 (highest recorded i.q.).

  you would have been "wrong" until 1928!

  IQ and ethics are not the same. Your yes meaning yes and your no meaning no is an issue of honesty - fairmindedness, ie ethical behavior. how brilliant you are - how easily you grasp new concepts, how scientifically minded or oriented you are - we are all different. some of us can be very intelligent linguistically but utter failures mathematically - and vice versa. There are so many ins and outs - but a baseline high IQ generally indicates an individual who is capable in the grand scheme of things in a larger way than those average or lower. very simple stuff actually......a severely mentally challenged person cannot learn to read or write.....most average people can and do....the higher the IQ goes, the easier the learning process is facilitated. imho.

  and true intelligence requires critical thinking skills - this is where you run into difficulty with the ave jw....they are programmed NOT to think critically but to simply accept whatever is doled out and if it makes no sense, then wait for new light. accepting that sort of illogical reasoning is not evidence of much brain power....again imho.

  i hadn't been on the board to visit much last year, so i have been going back and poking around through the older threads since i started to post here.

  i was on jwfacts.com, and noticed paul had posted a brief article about the jw video and the evil sparlock the warrior wizard.

  we have no children, and i never got those videos anyway (even when i was still an elder), so when i went back and read all of the old threads, i was crying laughing.

  Pyramid Scheme - if you haven't yet - do find the video especially created for deaf individuals with rousing choices......it is yet another classic...........

  sparlock was something else - i still can't believe how perverse that whole thing was - but so comical at the same time. got lots of awesome laughs out of that one.

  was talking with blackman the other day and reflecting on our past and we were discussing some trials we went thru together, namely bethel.

  our friendship has endured thru days of pioneering together, bethel and now full fledged post jw apostasy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1.

  what we were talking about was other friends of ours who went thru and endured some severe bullshit at bethel.

  i find this all very sad, yet very to be expected. the mindset is so thoroughly banged in and reinforced that everyone not of the group is the enemy to be avoided at all costs. it will never cease to amaze me how people who are so adamant that they alone have accurate biblical understanding and an elite position before the most high are so terrified that one individual who thinks differently can damage them and their faith in someway...to the point where they can't even look them in the eye and have a normal human conversation... if their faith is all that strong and can withstand storms and all the rest, like that house built on sand vs rock illustration - why the fear and anxiety to have communication with those who have differing views???

  and this doesn't even begin to address the core values of christianity - love thy neighbor.....love the greatest law....

  i personally have only a handful of relatives "in" and interestingly enough, they wouldn't have anything to do with me when i was "in good standing" for years and years.....so no surprise that now they perceive me with horns and a forked tail.....

  arobles - back in the 70's there were several who let their kids drop out of high school because they were in fear of them doing drugs......plus with 75 on the horizon, who needed high school diplomas?

  Too old for an IPAD!

  my elderly(72) grandmother told my auntie that she has to get an ipad and a ipod.

  my granny can barely check her email, im not sure what she thinks shes going to be doing with these apple products.

  she said she needs them for the field service.... my faded aunt says if it will make her pretty and popular in the hall, cost is no matter.

  depends on the person - some elderly pick up on technology and enjoy and get good use out of it.....others are completely buffooned. but to get it just to stand out or look like something you aren't is nothing more than a colossal waste of $$$

  from my observation, there are some posters on this site who come across as having a superior intellect. perhaps there is a correlation between having removed oneself from the religion and one's mental prowess......which would mean that our departure has only served to lower the average jw iq as a whole.................

  personally i've known some pretty smart witnesses, and also some pretty dopey ones. the problem may not lie in their basic capacity to learn, but their unwilllingness to broaden their minds. 'none so blind as him who will not see'
