how come they never give any real solid examples of what they are talking about.....like a real-life scenario of one of their apostates.....it's so just crazy and senseless. one thing for sure, they endeavor to drum up fear in the flock...fear of something they can't even logically pinpoint or describe. they need to back up this apostate rant with some hard facts and realities. like take something that someone who has left the org has printed or published - bring it out, consider it and shoot holes in it to prove to the flock they are right and the counter-viewpoint is wrong. aha - that could open a can of worms!

Please explain why the elders are doing this to us

he was visited again by two elders(one in training) again.
third shepherding call within two months.

isn't thinking in itself something we accomplish independently? no one else is in our heads thinking with us....our brains do it.....we make decisions based on what we see, hear, feel, sense. if someone thinks "dependently" - well seriously, how does that happen? even a child thinks within his own head based on his own five senses. the parent can mold the child's thinking by teaching them....but does that mean that the child's brain processes are dependent on those of the parent? i breathe independently. no one can do it for me. if i develop a serious lung problem i may forfeit that independence and require oxygen machinery. but if i stop thinking independently, there is no artificial attachment on which i can depend. my brain would then be dead. and so would i. oh well, musings of the morning.

that whole bit about enablers/addicts/apostates is downright delusional. it is assuming that anyone with a real problem if left to their own devices is going to go down the tubes to self-destruction...what about people who seek help..or those who do have a genetic predisposition toward alcoholism but have control over themselves....or who crave drugs or a high but have sense to curtail the impulses.....such people may have support systems in place, and they should....and that is NOT a bad thing. they really ought to stay out of trying to use psychology/psychiatry in their rhetoric. and the whole big apostate fear - well if you're so fragile you can't face the facts, that is a sad situation. anyone who sees through the bs and detaches themselves from it automatically becomes this horrible defective creature who is out to get you???? i know some actively work to help enlighten those in the religion, but there are also a lot of us who do not - and who say let it be - there are a lot of nice decent people mixed up in the religion and they are sincere about it....if it works for them, fine....they like it, they are invested in it...leave them be.

in a reminiscent event, harlots operating at a popular ezenei-cable point inasaba delta state have humiliated four gospel jehovah witness preachers during their routine activity leaving two of them stripped naked while their bags containing awake and watchtowers were allegedly set ablaze.. it would be recalled that few years ago some christian convertors from a popular pentecostal church after they were allegedly hoodwinked into love making with the harlots, had their bibles set ablaze upon their refusal to pay for their love making.. eyewitness told leadership friday that the incident occurred last tuesday towards nightfall when the preachers upon courage approached residents of the brothel to be part of their gospel teachings (word of god).. as it were, the tradition of jehovah witness widely known for strict compliance against things of the world especially as they carry out their preaching of house to house in group of male and female.. but as unsuspecting regular visitors/preachers to various places, sources said they moved into the brothel was greeted in happiness by some of the sexworkers who immediately assembled themselves to hear the word of god.. while the preaching lasted, our informed sources said many of the sex workers were seen like passersby clad in skimpy dresses that merely cover their nudity leaving their colleagues who had assembled to hear the word of god with serious gossip.. but this fateful day it was not to be for the jehovah preachers who had gone to the brothel without the female among them and in their usual way introduced the topic in one of the awake and while the biblical discourse lasted, the preachers were said to have been greeted in rude shock when one of the sexworkers identified as chinasa raced out of her room in what could be best described as hot pant that merely covers her nudity and with big bottle of stout and cigarette to drag one of them for sex.. in what looks like a childs play, the preacher leadership friday reliably gathered, resisted the attempt on him but the hookers method gained prominence and was dragged into the room.. leadership friday checks revealed that the sex workers modus operandi is to woo unsuspecting men into having sex with them via their skimpy dresses; a situation they also display their pubic hair.. expectedly the preacher and the harlot were said to have been engaged in serious battle right inside the room when his colleagues made attempt to rescue him but the situation became conflagrated as the harlots were allegedly said to have teamed up and seized their bags containing watchtower and awake.. they were said to have descended on them in severe beating including calling them names and allegations that they made love to them and did not pay.. .

JW family made contact....
by LouBelle in.....after 8 years of us being disfellowshipped.
the made contact through my aunt who is still 'in' - as in she has faded but is not disfellowshipped and will pop to a meeting now and again - she does this for my grans' sake.. the contact was from my aunt and uncle (he's an elder) these were the 2 witnesses used against me in my judicial case.
they contacted my aunt and said to forward the message onto us.

quite the story, loubelle.....the gall is amazing. great idea - let an elder build a room for granny....hah......my mother who was baptized back in the 30's and stuck with the delusion all her life ended up completely crazy (she always had mental issues, but they escalated as the years wore on)....by the time she was really whacked, everyone in the cong avoided her like the plague. she's in her 90's now and in a nursing home and just take a wild guess how many from loving congs in the vicinity have been up to visit. not that i would expect them too - she's better off without their rhetoric.

So, my husband would not even meet the elders who just happened to drop by this morning.
by Julia Orwell inhe stayed inside and kept going about his business like they weren't even there.
i engaged them on the verandah hut politely explained that they'd caught us at a bad time as we were doing a big cleanup of the house.
the elders had even bought a pack of chocolate cookies around, so they were expecting to be invited in and offered coffee.

yep - my beloved spouse sports a beard these days too! i just don't get why they insist on bugging you so frequently, julia-o.....i would avoid them, not answer the door, ignore them.....they must get the message eventually.

Can somebody explain the changes I read in the WT??
by diana netherton inmy grandmother asked me to read to her so i asked her what she wanted me to read.
was the watchtower, but she specfically asked for the one with "the timeline.
it for a few days and apparently hasn't read up.

yeah - wt101 - we were wrong and rather than admitting it, we are going to twist some words and ideas around and confuse you further, but it is new light and such a blessing.
i am not up on the latest twists and turns, but i believe the 1914 date is currently being buried. and the whole idea of the anointed 144k number being attained in the mid-30's is out the door. and then there's that ludicrous thing about overlapping generations, making the generation jesus referred to completely meaningless. other than that - i am sure others will be able to explain in depth!!
