peeling potatoes and veg at a quick build and then being stuck in a kitchen for 4 hours washing pots and pans, after I was told I would meet all these wonderful brothers. Just me and a few others stuck in a kitchen all day.

worst privelege ever?
by rockmehardplace incollecting money after every meeting.
i could never get someone to help, and i was always last to leave.
when i did finally have one person who would help, if i used them too often i got questions about why the two of us were always taking the contributions.

Were You Ever Snubbed In The Hall & Didn't Know Why???
by minimus inwere you ever treated by the elders, their families and "the friends" in a way that made you feel you were unwanted?.
there's probably nothing worse than realizing that you are not being treated with the same dignity and love as others.
once we come out of the organization, we expect better but sadly the real world can be cruel too.

This is hilarious, acting like big kids comes to mind
I was very friendly with a sis in the hall and for some reason she dropped me like hot bricks. I noticed a few others were treating me the same. I hadn`t done anything wrong to my knowledge. It was only later I was aware of a certain sis always talking to others and trying to get my viewpoint on certain elders etc. I never said anything negative and kept the conversation upbuilding. It then dawned on me what was happening she was spreading wee stories. To make sure of my assumptions I told her I was madly in love with a certain elder (by the way he was 20 years older, wrinkly and very arrogant a bit of a buffoon) I sat back and waited and watched, said elder started eyeing me with curiosity and talking about how he would have a full head of hair in the new system, dressing in coloured shirts etc, you guessed she had told him!!! I laughed for weeks, and found her out, avoided her like the plague.
After I d/a I heard she was councilled for causing divisions and spreading gossip by the elder I was so in love with.

Well i`m shocked, was on Facebook the other day looking for ex-friends and came across a load of dubs from the k/h I was in. Elders, m/s and ones I thought were all so super spiritual. The photographs of them drinking and smoking and raving it up. There was holiday snaps of one m/s on an exotic holiday with his wife, no wonder he can afford such holidays after the exorbitant prices he charges even poor lowly sisters in the hall. One young sis has "shun the unbelievers" on her wall. These people are such hypcrites I am so glad I am out.

You ever drive to the meeting, or field service meeting point, and do a U-Turn and go back home?
by miseryloveselders ini did this today.
last night, the pretty little weather girl stated there would "be heavy rain marked by occasional thunderstorms.
" i thought to myself, great, hopefully its so bad when i awaken, anybody originally planning on going out, will just stay home.

I did then was d/f, during all the time I was going to mtgs to try and get reinstated I never had one, I think it had something with not having to talk to the bros. Then when I was reinstated and back in the fold they started all over again. (weird)

All by same elder:-
1st j/c i was crying hysterically, the meeting wasn`t stopped, was asked what my sex life was in my marriage.
Called said elder for help while in hospital. He said shouting at me "WHO GAVE YOU MY PHONE NUMBER"
Whilst attending mtg after being d/f I was directed like I was a car, a chair was thrown on the ground he pointed to me then the chair and I was motioned to sit.
Meeting with elders for re-instatement was told to wait in the kitchen, sat on the floor for on and a half hours till they were ready.
On hearing my dad was a politician "all politicians are liars"
When asking questions about the blood issue/failed prophecies/607 etc he walked off during our conversation.
Other things to numerous to mention. Can`t you just feel the love.

A Demon Experience?......This was/is very serious to me.
by awildflower inso when we moved here from maine to okc, six years ago this coming april, my daughter was 7. the military moved us so it brings a big moving truck to your house and unloads all of your stuff etc.
we had been settling in for a few months and my daughter starting telling me that she was hearing things in her room.
small things at first, just enough to prick up her ears.

Wildflower I have no explanation for what happened to your daughter but can only relate to you a very similar thing that happened to my 5 year old son over 15 years ago.
We had moved to a new flat and my son was acting very strangely I thought it was due to the move or the fact I had recently seperated from my husband thinking his behaviour was due to stress. His personality had completey changed, he was recalling events from the bible about angels and demons battling with each other. I thought he was picking up things from the book study (we were studying the book of Revelation at the time)
But this didn`t explain the behaviour he was seeing imaginary friends, their was 5 of them, he wanted me to be their friend and hold their hands I couldn`t even see them. I dismissed this as kids having imaginary friends. He was simulating sexual intercourse with his teddies something as an active dub like yourself I would never have let him watch stuff like that. The whole thing totally scared me. We moved to a friends house for a few days hoping things would improve but he was still doing all this weird stuff. This was behaviour was only evident to me. For when we were around our friends the behaviour would stop.
After a week we went back to the flat. A few items were burned as per the elders instructions. But no relief items were being moved around the house the pet cat was very nervy round my son. I kid you not.
A friend stayed overnight and heard voices talking (hes not schizophrenic) And a few days later it all stopped, my son came into my room in the morning and said that they had all gone away.
He now has no recollection of what happened or of any memory before the age of 5. I still wonder to this day what it was, like you.

Why Would Someone Like me Leave the "Truth"? Part 1
by cantleave inthe title of this series of threads is rhetorical.
i am going to answer it with my own experience.
before i do that, i want to discuss what we are told through the literature and the instruction that is given during meetings, assemblies and conventions, for the reasons why people leave the truth.. the watchtower of 15 november 2008, in the article help them return without delay indicates people leave because of the following:.

I was at the drs today to reverse my decision for not accepting blood. He enquired further about this, I said I was no longer a j/w and if I needed a blood transfusion I would readily accept one. He asked about how my depresion was and I said it had greatly improved and I had no depressive episodes for around 8 months. He mentioned that they had a lot of j/w`s as patients and a few drs were concerned about the amount of depression/mental illness amongst them. He further went on to say it will be interesting to see how you keep doing now you are no longer part of that group. So drs are aware of this issue after all.
